ROLE SYNOPSIS: 

The Senior Measurement Coordinator – Permian Midstream is responsible for coordinating and overseeing natural gas and liquid measurement operations across bpx Permian Basin Midstream assets. This role partners closely with Field Operations, Production Accounting, Engineering, Commercial, Maintenance, and third-party contractors to ensure accurate, compliant, and reliable hydrocarbon measurement. Success in this role requires strong technical expertise, analytical problem-solving, cross-functional collaboration, and a commitment to safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement. 

  

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: 

  • Coordinate the installation, maintenance, calibration, and performance of natural gas and liquid measurement systems to ensure accurate custody transfer and operational reliability. 

  • Lead measurement data governance through reconciliation, quality assurance, discrepancy investigations, and Lost and Unaccounted-For (LUAF) analysis. 

  • Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards and regulations, including AGA, API, GPA, ASTM, and DOT requirements, while maintaining audit readiness. 

  • Serve as the primary liaison between field operations, engineering, production accounting, commercial teams, and third-party vendors to coordinate measurement activities and resolve operational issues. 

  • Drive continuous improvement by standardizing measurement practices, supporting new facility commissioning, optimizing measurement performance, and promoting safe operations. 

  

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION: 

  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in oil and gas measurement, instrumentation, automation, or a related field with progressive responsibility. 

  • Strong knowledge of natural gas and liquid measurement systems, electronic flow measurement (EFM), flow computers, SCADA systems, and applicable industry standards (AGA, API, GPA, ASTM, and DOT). 

  • Experience with measurement data management software, work management systems (SAP, Oracle EAM, Maximo, or similar), and advanced Microsoft Office applications. 

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Business, or a related discipline; or an Associate's degree with ten (10) or more years of progressive measurement experience. 

  

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • Previous experience leading or coordinating measurement operations, vendor relationships, or cross-functional initiatives. 

  • Experience with custody transfer measurement systems, meter proving programs, and commissioning activities. 

  • Experience with Power BI or similar reporting tools, gas quality analysis, production accounting, and reconciliation processes.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.

WORKING CONDITIONS: 

  • Combination of office and field-based work with approximately 60% of time spent supporting field operations in the Permian Basin. 

  • Frequent travel to field locations, including Orla and Odessa, Texas. 

  • Occasional work outside normal business hours to support operational needs, maintenance activities, or emergency response. 

  

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Ability to travel regularly to field locations and industrial facilities. 

  • Ability to walk, climb stairs and ladders, and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) while performing field inspections. 

  • Ability to work safely in varying outdoor weather conditions and industrial environments. 

  

LOCATION: 

Orla, Texas (Primary) 

Odessa, Texas (Additional) 

  

SCHEDULE: 

Full-time, 40 hours per week. Combination of office and field work supporting Permian Basin Midstream operations. 

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: 

How much do we pay (Base)? 

$165,000.00 - $223,000.00 USD Annual 

Note that the pay range listed for this position is a good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible base compensation at the time of posting.
