Job description

Job Summary:

The Quality Assurance Analyst is responsible for ensuring that all features and functions of the pension administration system meet defined quality standards before release. The role involves preparing and executing test plans, developing automation scripts where applicable, identifying defects, and collaborating with developers and business teams to ensure consistent and accurate system performance. The QA Analyst will play an integral role in both manual and automation testing, contributing directly to high-quality deliverables and stable client implementations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Test Planning & Execution

  • Analyze business requirements, technical specifications, and use cases to develop comprehensive test plans and test cases.
  • Execute manual test scenarios for functional, regression, and UAT testing across multiple environments.
  • Verify overall system functionality, data accuracy, and adherence to business requirements across different test scenarios.
  • Identify, log, and track defects to closure using standard defect management tools.
  • Participate in test reviews and ensure proper traceability between requirements and test cases.

Automation & Framework Maintenance

  • Develop, update, and execute automated test scripts using Selenium, Java, Maven, and TestNG.
  • Maintain data-driven automation frameworks and reusable test components.
  • Collaborate with QA automation engineers to improve script reliability and reduce manual effort.
  • Contribute to regression suite maintenance to ensure ongoing coverage as the application evolves.

Quality Governance & Reporting

  • Follow established QA processes, templates, and standards.
  • Support smoke, ad hoc/exploratory, system, regression, etc. testing during build deployments.
  • Provide regular test execution status updates and report on defects, risks, and blockers.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Work closely with Developers, Business Analysts, and QA peers to understand system design and functional logic.
  • Participate in peer reviews, sprint planning, and daily stand-ups in Agile or hybrid environments.
  • Suggest improvements in testing methods, tools, and techniques.
  • Support efforts to increase test automation and overall QA efficiency.

Education and Experience:

  • University degree, a minimum 3–5 years of experience in software testing or quality assurance.
  • Experience with pension administration systems or other complex financial systems is an asset.
  • Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Selenium WebDriver, TestNG, and Maven and exposure to data-driven or keyword-driven automation frameworks.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum and Waterfall testing methodologies.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in manual testing concepts, test case design, and defect tracking.
  • Exposure to performance, API, or security testing is an asset.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Adaptable, organized, and able to manage multiple testing priorities.


Work Environment:

  • Office setting with a moderate noise level.
  • The employee will work at an individual workstation, using a telephone and computer.


Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to remain seated for extended periods.
  • Regular use of a computer and other office machinery, such as printers and copy machines.
  • Occasional movement around the office.
  • Frequent communication via telephone.
