Min 2.5 years Proven experience in medical billing and insurance verification, preferably in ophthalmology. Proficiency in AdvancedMD and Nextech software is required. Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify billing discrepancies

Core responsibilities:

Process and submit insurance claims for Ophthalmology services. Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to appointments and procedures. Follow up on unpaid or denied claims, identifying and resolving issues with insurance providers. Review and correct coding errors to ensure proper claim submission. Post payments, adjustments, and reconcile accounts to maintain accurate financial records. Stay up to date on insurance policies, ophthalmology billing guidelines, and regulatory compliance (HIPAA, Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance). Work closely with physicians, office staff, and insurance providers to streamline the billing process and improve reimbursement rates.
