Science Teacher

What We’re Looking For:

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degrees or a teaching credential is a plus.
• Ability and willingness to teach a wide range of science courses (Earth, Physical, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Astronomy, Earth Space, Anatomy & Physiology, Marine Biology, & Zoology), following content standards — curriculum and resources provided.
• Experience working with students, including those with learning differences, neurodiversity, accelerated learning needs, and/or mental health challenges.
• Mentoring experience and a passion for social-emotional learning.
• Outgoing, adaptable, and eager to thrive in a dynamic, student-centered environment.
• Skilled with technology, curious about innovation, and open to learning new tools.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• A growth mindset with the flexibility to pivot and problem-solve as needed.

Our Fusion Academy Substitute Center has an immediate opening for a Science Teacher. While working remotely, the teacher in this role provides a student-centered, supportive classroom via Zoom that promotes compassion and acceptance, emotional security, resourcefulness, and independent critical thinking while addressing the individual academic and emotional needs of each student through Fusion's differentiated approach. Our substitutes are eligible to apply for short-term and long-term assignments, sometimes covering a single hour of instruction and/or serving as a teacher of record for varying lengths of time.
