Title: Program Coordinator - Day by Day                              

Reports to: Region Head (LatAm)

Status: Contractor                                                                 

Location: Santiago or Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, or Remote Home Office

Role Summary:

The Program Coordinator will direct and execute our Day by Day program to provide patients in Latin America with access to information, guidance, and care in support of The Max Foundation’s mission to accelerate health equity globally. This position will play a key role in planning, executing, supporting, documenting, and mapping the development of operational processes for Day by Day program implementation while managing key stakeholder relationships in the LatAm region.


Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for leading, developing, and implementing all aspects of Max’s Day by Day program in Guatemala, Dominican Republic, and El Salvador in our Latin America region. Specific program content includes:
    • Day by Day – Program developed as an initiative to provide guidance and orientation to patients, including emotional support for them and their caregivers, disease and treatment information and education, patient meetings, regular phone calls and coaching in treatment adherence and treatment follow-up for patients who are not in the Max drug donation program and receive their Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML) treatments from local health systems.
  • Ensure compliance, monitoring, & evaluation of Day by Day program in Latin America, in alignment with all program guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the Patient Education & Communications Coordinator and provide support across the region to colleagues on Day by Day matters
  • Represent the Latin America region in regional and international communications, present at conferences, partnering organizations, etc.
  • Active engagement in Max’s communication platform to increase team cohesiveness and alignment between individual, country, regional, and global team; maintain awareness of organization’s current goals, direction, and development.
  • Support team in required projects or specific tasks, as assigned by supervisor.


Qualifications:

  • Diploma required, Bachelor’s degree preferred in Social Work, Public Health, Nursing or a related field
  • Minimum one year of working experience in a healthcare related field; experience in management of medicines or patient education a plus
  • Comfortable and proficient using computer and phone as primary tools for the job and able to work well independently
  • Communicate clearly with patients, healthcare professionals and involved stakeholders at all levels
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, including Excel, Word, & PowerPoint
  • Experience working in database management
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to handle requests tactfully by identifying problems and applying solutions
  • Mission-driven approach and passion for global equity
  • Nonprofit experience, ideally in global health
  • Fluent in English and local language
