Red Nucleus is hiring a Creative Studio Manager to join our Medical Communications team! 


(For Toronto based candidates, this is a hybrid role if you're within a 1-hour commute to our office in Liberty Village.  We are open to remote candidates outside of the area for the right profile.)

Job Overview



The Creative Studio Manager is pivotal to the success of the Creative department. This individual keeps the creative engine running smoothly by overseeing daily operations and managing projects from brief to delivery.  The Creative Studio Manager will coordinate designers and resources, review budgets and timelines, and serve as a key liaison between Client Engagement and creative leadership, blending operational efficiency with creative support.

 

This individual understands all elements of the design process from end-to-end and is a great communicator who is people oriented. This important role allows designers to focus on the creative execution for our client projects. The Creative Studio Manager is comfortable managing a close-knit and collaborative team with a wide range of skills and personalities.

 


Responsibilities:

 

  • Manage the daily operation of the design team, ensuring projects are assigned, tracked, and delivered on schedule
  • Through a strong understanding of design processes & systems, ensure designers (internal and freelance) have the structure, resources, and clarity needed to produce exceptional work on time
  • Able to understand the different skill sets of each team member
  • Assist with the onboarding of new team members and freelancers

  • Assist in developing systems and processes that help the design production team operate efficiently
  • Monitor and oversee the progress of work from the design production team
  • Serve as a liaison that facilitates communication and works collaboratively with Client Engagement, Scientific Services, Digital Experience, Animation and Creatives Ideation
  • Review design work before it is shared with the Art Director and/or Account Director
  • Work with Project Management team to establish deliverables and evaluate progress as well as aid in resource management.
  • Resolves production issues and troubleshooting problems
  • Coordinate with external vendors
  • Assist in the development of team best practices. Identify process improvements, including software solutions that continuously improve quality and efficiency.

 

Education and Experience



Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Fine Arts, Technology or other related fields.

 

Experience

  • 6+ years’ experience in a creative agency setting (working within a creative capacity) with at least 3+ years in an operational/managerial capacity.



 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities


  • Strong understanding of creative production processes, delivery, and project management
  • Proven experience of providing leadership and inspiration, empowerment, and mentorship to a cross-functional team
  • Functional knowledge of creative software (Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma, PowerPoint)
  • Strong knowledge of print and digital standards
  • Excellent organizational skills with a focus on improving processes
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Solution-oriented with a strategic mindset and collaborative approach
  • Experience in time estimation, resourcing, budget management, project prioritization, and cost control
  • Demonstrated ability to work in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to maintain high standards under pressure

  • Proven project management capabilities

  • Accuracy and high attention to detail


 


The expected compensation for this role is $78,000 to $114,000 CAD. Compensation will be determined based on an applicant’s skills, competencies, experience, and qualifications. Employees may progress within this range over time based on performance, tenure, and internal equity considerations. Red Nucleus Employees may progress within this range over time based on performance, tenure, and internal equity considerations.
