Position Summary:
Swiftly is seeking a high-performing, hunter-oriented Retail Sales Director to lead new retailer acquisition across the West to Central U.S. regions. This role is responsible for sourcing, developing, and closing net-new grocery partnerships. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in the grocery retail ecosystem, strong knowledge of digital media and retail media monetization, and an established network within regional and enterprise grocery chains. This role will report to the SVP of Retail and play a critical role in expanding Swiftly’s footprint with multi-unit grocery operators seeking to modernize their digital capabilities and unlock new retail media revenue streams.
 
Candidates must be located in Pacific/Central time zones. 

Responsibilities Include:
  • Own and execute the full-cycle sales process for net-new grocery retailers
  • Prospect and penetrate regional and enterprise grocery chains across the West and Central U.S.
  • Develop territory strategy with your target account lists, and multi-threaded outreach plans
  • Identify and engage C-suite stakeholders
  • Identify key decision‐makers and develop action plans to deepen client relationships
  • Develop and implement strategic account plans to maximize revenue potential and ensure long-term customer success
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor for retailers looking to enhance their digital capabilities
  • Conduct high-impact sales presentations and product demonstrations to key decision-makers
  • Leverage sales data and market insights to identify opportunities for expansion and optimize sales strategies
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, product, and customer success teams to ensure smooth onboarding and ongoing engagement with clients
  • Accurately forecast and report on sales performance, maintaining pipeline visibility in Salesforce
  • Develop an intimate understanding of Swiftly’s business and our clients using a variety of sources
  • Other related duties as assigned

  • Required Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of experience in grocery retail, retail media, adtech, or digital advertising sales
  • Proven success in new logo acquisition within the grocery or retail ecosystem
  • Deep understanding of: Regional and enterprise grocery operators, Loyalty platforms and first-party data, Retail media networks (onsite & offsite), and/or Digital circular & promotional ecosystems
  • Demonstrated ability to sell into executive leadership
  • Strong negotiation, business case development, and closing skills
  • Experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles
  • Proficiency in Salesforce and sales forecasting tools
  • Ability to work independently and adapt in a high-growth, dynamic environment
  • Strong listening, questioning, presentation, and negotiation skills ‐ outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Disciplined time management and ability to work under pressure in a cross functional environment
  • Advanced computer software proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Salesforce)
  • High level of expertise in analyzing information and making information-based recommendations

  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Existing relationships with regional grocery chains in the West/Central U.S
  • Experience selling retail media or digital transformation solutions
  • Knowledge of grocery technology ecosystem (loyalty, POS, data feeds, media measurement)
  • Experience attending and leveraging industry events for pipeline development
