The Opportunity

Are you ready to shape the future of the energy transition?

We are looking for a Sales Manager Large Projects to lead the pursuit and successful acquisition of strategic, large-scale turnkey system projects within Grid Integration. In this highly visible role, you will manage complex international opportunities from early customer engagement through bidding and negotiation to successful contract closure.

You will shape winning capture strategies, coordinate multinational and cross-functional teams, and build strong relationships with customers, developers, investors, transmission system operators, and consortium partners. Your commercial expertise, strategic thinking, and ability to navigate complex project sales environments will be key to securing projects that support the global energy transition.

This role offers the opportunity to influence some of the industry's most significant energy infrastructure projects while contributing to the long-term growth of our business. If you bring strong commercial acumen, experience in complex turnkey project sales, and a passion for developing innovative solutions, you will find a rewarding opportunity to make a lasting impact.

Location: We believe great talent has no boundaries. In addition to the advertised locations, we are open to considering other locations across Europe for the right candidate.

How You'll Make an Impact

  • Identify, qualify, and manage strategic large-project opportunities valued at several hundred million Euros.

  • Coordinate multinational, cross-functional teams throughout the entire pursuit lifecycle, from opportunity identification and bid development to negotiation, contract award, and handover to execution.

  • Develop and execute capture strategies, including customer engagement plans, market positioning, pricing strategies, market assessments, and risk and opportunity evaluations.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, developers, investors, transmission system operators, consortium partners, and other key stakeholders.

  • Foster alignment across internal and external stakeholders to support successful outcomes throughout the pursuit process.

  • Develop innovative commercial and contractual solutions that strengthen market position while maintaining an appropriate risk profile.

  • Manage complex commercial and contractual negotiations with customers and partners.

  • Ensure high-quality, compelling proposals that clearly demonstrate customer value and differentiate Hitachi Energy in the market.

Your Background

  • Extensive experience (10+ years) in large-scale turnkey system project sales within the energy, utilities, infrastructure, industrial, offshore wind, or related sectors.

  • Proven track record of securing major EPC, EPCI, or similarly complex project opportunities.

  • Strong commercial and business acumen, with the ability to evaluate complex opportunities and develop successful capture and sales strategies.

  • Experience coordinating international bid, capture, or sales teams across multiple countries, functions, and stakeholder groups.

  • Deep understanding of project-based sales, contract structures, risk management, commercial negotiations, and financial business case development.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including executive teams.

  • Strong strategic thinking combined with a hands-on mentality and willingness to go the extra mile when required to secure key opportunities.

  • Strong strategic and evaluative capabilities, with experience conducting market assessments and business opportunity evaluations.

  • Experience working successfully within multicultural and matrix organisations.

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, or a related discipline; an MBA is advantageous.

  • Fluency in English is required; additional languages are considered a plus.

  • Collaborate with talented colleagues across the world in an inclusive, innovative, and purpose-driven environment.

  • Benefit from ongoing learning, career development opportunities, and the chance to work on industry-defining projects that make a real impact.
