Job description

Senior Product Designer

Location: Montreal or Quebec

Schedule: 9:00am - 6:00pm PST

About Numa

Numa is building the platform to power AI-native dealerships, rearchitecting automotive service and sales with advanced AI agents that automate customer interactions, streamline operations, and reimagine how dealerships work. Numa integrates AI into every aspect of dealership functionsβ€”from rescuing customer calls and voicemails that generate more revenue, to reducing customer resolution times that drive overall customer satisfaction (CSI), to improving dealership team productivity and accountability. Numa has raised $50 million from leading investors (Google, Threshold, Costanoa, Mitsui, and Touring Capital).

The Role

We're hiring a Senior Product Designer to own major product areas and work closely with Product and Engineering to define and design new experiences from concept through launch and iteration. This role is for a senior individual contributor who is comfortable operating with meaningful ambiguity, rapidly evolving technologies, and a fast-moving product environment. This role reports to the Head of Design.

You'll be designing for the AI agents that handle customer calls and voicemails, and shaping the service and sales workflows dealerships rely on every day.

Design itself is changing alongside AI. We're looking for someone who's excited by that without losing sight of the fundamentals: strong product judgment, customer empathy, design craft, and a willingness to question assumptions.

What You'll Do

  • Own end-to-end product design for major features and product areas, from early exploration through shipped work and iteration
  • Help clarify ambiguous problems, contributing to problem framing rather than waiting for perfect inputs
  • Partner closely with PMs and engineers to improve solution quality and execution speed
  • Develop firsthand understanding of customer workflows through customer conversations, call reviews, analytics, and field visits
  • Participate in customer interviews and synthesize feedback to bring the voice of the customer into product decisions
  • Design and improve complex workflows
  • Contribute to shared patterns, components, and design guidance to improve consistency, usability, and quality across the product
  • Provide thoughtful feedback and critique to improve the work of teammates
  • Maintain a high design quality bar while helping our teams move faster, not slower
  • Operate with a high degree of autonomy when goals and constraints are reasonably clear, and proactively help drive teams to clarity when they're not

What You Bring

  • 4+ years of experience designing workflow-driven software products
  • Proven ability to own features or product areas within a broader product strategy
  • Strong product thinking, interaction design, visual design, and communication skills
  • Strong customer empathy and comfort engaging directly with users
  • Strong judgment about where to invest depth versus speed, with the ability to help teammates understand tradeoffs

Nice To Have

  • Experience designing AI-powered workflows, automation systems, copilots, agentic experiences, or other AI-assisted products
  • Experience creating or contributing to design systems, shared patterns, and scalable UI foundations
  • Comfort incorporating AI tools into design exploration, prototyping, iteration, and day-to-day workflows
  • Experience working in a startup or high-growth environment, with comfort operating in fast-paced, evolving environments

What Success Looks Like

  • Ship high-quality, end-to-end product design for major features, from concept through launch and iteration
  • Build trusted partnerships with Product and Engineering that improve solution quality and execution speed
  • Bring the voice of the customer into product decisions through direct engagement and thoughtful synthesis
  • Contribute to shared patterns and design guidance that raise consistency and quality across the product
  • Exercise strong judgment about where to invest depth versus speed, helping the team move faster without lowering the bar

Why Join Numa

  • We believe in everyone's growth
  • Be part of an industry leader named the #1 fastest-growing AI Automotive company by Inc. 5000

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $90,000 - $130,000 CAD
  • Equity package
  • Flexible PTO
  • Fully Paid Group Insurance
