Who Gives A Crap

Cleaning & Household Products

We are one of the fastest-growing eCommerce businesses in Australia (and now the US and UK too!). More than that, we’re one of the country’s fastest-growing social businesses. Who Gives a Crap sells beautiful, forest friendly toilet paper, paper towels and tissues and we donate 50% of our profits to help build toilets for those in need. As much as we love toilet paper, the reason we’re in business is the impact we’re having on the world—To date, Who Gives A Crap has donated over $8 million Aussie dollars to our charity partners, WaterAid, Sanergy, Lwala Community Alliance and Shining Hope For Communities, iDE and WaterSHED. The more innovative the solutions our partners can unlock, the quicker we can help build toilets for the 2 billion people who don’t have them. We have a fully distributed business with all team members working remotely (i.e. from home or a co-working space) most of the time. We currently operate in six time zones with team members across four continents... and we’re just getting started. We believe a diversity of perspectives and experiences is what makes a strong team. The stronger our team, the closer we are to our mission – toilets and clean water for all. So come join us! We're looking for people of all genders, races, ethnicities, orientations, abilities and disabilities to come sit at our table. The only thing we're a stickler on is species – you have to be a person.

Job description

Digital Designer

PH location / Remote first

Want to challenge yourself at a purpose-led scale up AND make a difference in the world? Come join the revolootion!

Funny name, serious business We make eco-friendly products and donate 50% of our profits to provide clean water and help build toilets for the billions of people who lack proper access. So far, we’ve contributed over $18 million AUD (roughly $12.5 million USD) to fund sanitation projects around the globe. Basically, we’re really good at doing good. With hubs in Australia, the Philippines, China, the US, UK and Europe, our amazing team of 200+ work to make the biggest possible impact for people and the planet. Over the next couple of years, we’re hoping to increase our annual donation tenfold to get us closer to our dream of everyone in the world having access to clean water and sanitation services.

A bit about the role We are looking for a creative and collaborative Digital Designer to join our Digital Product team! In this role, your goal is simple: help us design the digital experiences that turn curious consumers into loyal subscribers.

Working closely with our eCommerce Specialist, Growth Marketing, and Creative partners, you will take our brand campaigns and translate them into engaging on-site experiences. You’ll work closely with our Product Designer on the storefront, with a focus on visual craft, brand expression, and keeping the storefront looking fresh and commercially effective.

We are also excited for this person to embrace AI. You'll use AI tools to speed up your day-to-day workflow—handling routine formatting and generating assets so you have more time to spend on the actual creative craft that AI can't replicate.

If you worked here this past month, here are some things you might have been involved in:

  • Helping design a site takeover for a new product launch (like adding a cameo from “Clammy” as a temporary avatar during our Splash Limited Edition).
  • Using AI tools to generate draft assets and format standard banners, saving yourself hours of manual resizing.
  • Collaborating with Growth Marketing to iterate on landing pages, making sure the design connects the ad content smoothly to the shop experience.
  • Partnering with the Product Designer to ensure your campaign placements fit nicely within the everyday storefront.
  • Updating standard campaign placements (banners, hero treatments, product callouts) to keep the site looking unmistakably Who Gives A Crap.
  • Sprinkling digital easter eggs across the site that reward curiosity (like hiding toilets across the site for a "Where's the Loo" Limited Edition campaign).

Let’s talk about you
You are a solid visual designer who understands that great digital design isn't just about looking good—it's about helping the customer find what they need. You have a great eye for typography and composition, and you're eager to learn how your designs impact metrics like conversion.

Here’s what we're hoping you'll bring to the table:

  • Visual Craft: You have a strong portfolio of digital work. You know how to take a campaign brief and apply it to digital surfaces while keeping the brand feeling consistent and high-quality.
  • Curiosity around AI: You are comfortable experimenting with AI tools to speed up your production work, but you know that the final brand finish and quality control always stay with you.
  • Commercial Interest: You want to know why a design works. You're curious about how campaigns perform on site and are open to using customer insights to tweak your designs.
  • A Collaborative Mindset: You are a great team player. You listen well, adapt your communication style depending on who you are working with (marketing, engineering, etc.), and take constructive feedback in stride.
  • Time Management: You know how to juggle multiple tasks. Campaign work moves fast, so you are good at prioritizing your time, keeping the team updated on your progress, and flagging when you need help.

You give a crap
Do you want your work to make the world a better place? Do you want to work with other people who feel the same way? What a coincidence — us too!

Why should you work with us?
First off, as a certified B Corp™, we work to make a difference every day while maintaining the highest standards of social and environmental impact. With our most recent score of 125.5 we’re in very good company with other exceptional B Corps around the world. We also believe that helping to make the world a better place should be rewarded accordingly – that’s why we offer competitive, market informed salaries, meaningful support towards healthcare for our team around the world, generous paid leave, tailored learning and development opportunities, and free toilet paper (yes, you read that right). Our engagement surveys (thanks Culture Amp!) tell us that our team is really proud (95%) to work for Who Gives A Crap and, well, we couldn’t be more proud of that.

Have you made it this far?
If you’re still reading, we think there’s a strong chance you might be our kind of person. Here’s the thing, though — research suggests that 60% of women and underrepresented folks might have already talked themselves out of applying. Even if you don’t check every box above, we want to encourage you to introduce yourself. We believe a diversity of perspectives and experiences makes a team stronger — and the stronger our team, the closer we are to delivering toilets and clean water for all.
