Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Military Science, Criminal Justice, or related field required; equivalent experience may be considered
  • Minimum of 5 years of successful sales, business development, or channel management experience within Federal Law Enforcement, Homeland Security, Defense, Aviation, Public Safety, or related government markets.
  • Demonstrated experience working with agencies within DHS, DOJ, and other federal organizations with law enforcement responsibilities 
  • Experience managing distributors, value-added resellers, systems integrators, federal contractors, and other channel partners.
  • Experience identifying, qualifying, and capturing new business opportunities within federal acquisition environments.
  • Working knowledge of federal procurement processes, acquisition strategies, contract vehicles, budgeting cycles, and agency funding mechanisms.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • An MBA or other advanced degree preferred.

About the Job:

  

In this sales role, the Senior Sales Manager will be responsible for identifying, developing, and managing new and existing customer relationships, as well as leading future business development activities within the U.S. Federal Law Enforcement market. Primary focus areas include agencies within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Department of Justice (DOJ), and other federal organizations with law enforcement missions.


Activities will be conducted within the framework of the overall Gentex Sales and Channel Strategy and must be coordinated with other members of the Sales team working in the same and adjacent market spaces.


The Senior Sales Manager will be responsible for establishing and building close customer relationships to identify, develop, and capture new business opportunities. Activities include channel development and management, business opportunity identification, opportunity qualification, business capture strategy development, and tactical business capture planning and execution. The role is responsible for supporting the growth of the Gentex portfolio across both Ground and Air applications through direct customer engagement, channel partner development, and strategic market leadership.


The Senior Sales Manager will be accountable for achieving revenue and market share objectives within the Federal Law Enforcement market segment in support of overall Sales objectives. 


Key Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute annual and long-range Federal Law Enforcement growth strategies aligned with company objectives.
  • Prepare annual revenue plans, forecasts, and pipeline development strategies for assigned market responsibilities.
  • Shape and execute channel strategies designed to maximize market share, revenue growth, and brand equity across the Federal Law Enforcement market.
  • Identify, qualify, and capture new business opportunities through effective account management, business development, and strategic sales activities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key federal stakeholders, including agency leadership, operators, acquisition personnel, program managers, and industry partners.
  • Manage and expand relationships with federal distributors, value-added resellers, systems integrators, prime contractors, and other strategic channel partners.
  • Identify and leverage appropriate acquisition pathways, contract vehicles, and procurement mechanisms to accelerate market penetration and revenue growth.
  • Lead opportunity capture efforts including qualification, competitive assessment, strategy development, and execution planning.
  • Champion execution of product line sales strategies to effectively introduce new products and expand adoption of existing solutions.
  • Support implementation of pricing strategies and channel incentive programs consistent with corporate objectives.
  • Monitor agency budgets, acquisition forecasts, strategic initiatives, operational requirements, and emerging technologies to identify future growth opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Marketing, Business Development, Engineering, Customer Support, and Sales Operations teams to execute growth strategies and improve customer outcomes.
  • Organize and support product training activities for channel partners, end users, and customer-facing stakeholders.
  • Provide Voice of the Customer (VoC) feedback to Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing teams to support future product development and market positioning.
  • Collect and analyze market intelligence regarding customer requirements, competitive activity, procurement trends, and emerging market opportunities.
  • Grow adoption of the broader Gentex portfolio across Federal Law Enforcement agencies, including protective equipment, aviation systems, communications technologies, respiratory protection, situational awareness solutions, and integrated mission systems.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage both Ground and Air product portfolios to address evolving agency mission requirements.
  • Recommend participation in industry associations, government-focused organizations, trade groups, and events that support strategic growth objectives.
  • Attend trade shows, conferences, demonstrations, workshops, and customer engagements to maintain a deep understanding of market dynamics and customer needs.
  • Utilize Salesforce CRM to maintain opportunity pipelines, support forecasting activities, and enable effective Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP).
  • Manage selling expenses, including travel, demonstrations, trade shows, and channel development investments.
  • Perform other sales and business development duties as assigned.
