Kentro is hiring for multiple Sr. ServiceNow Developers to support Veteran Affairs ESOM contract. 

 

The Senior ServiceNow Developer will provide technical guidance and subject matter expertise for ServiceNow development efforts across assigned product areas. This role owns technical design, enforces development standards, leads ITOM and integration workstreams, and mentors junior and mid-level developers. The Senior Developer operates at the intersection of engineering and business, translating platform strategy into actionable sprint work and serving as an escalation point for complex technical issues. The ideal candidate brings 8+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience and demonstrated expertise in the VA ESM or comparable large-scale federal ServiceNow environment.

 

Location: This position can be performed remotely within the United States and will support Eastern Time working hours.

 

Salary Range: The salary for this position is between $150,000 – $170,000 annually. Factors affecting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical guidance and subject matter expertise for ServiceNow development efforts across assigned product areas.
  • Collaborate with Solution and Technical Architects to implement approved designs, standards, and platform strategies.
  • Architect scalable, reusable components using scoped application development and platform best practices.
  • Define and enforce coding standards, update set governance, and deployment processes including CI/CD pipelines via ServiceNow DevOps or external tooling.
  • Lead ITOM initiatives including Discovery (agentless and agent-based), Service Mapping, Event Management, and CMDB health and governance.
  • Oversee enterprise integrations using Integration Hub, REST/SOAP APIs, MID Servers, and third-party connectors.
  • Drive platform operations activities including instance health monitoring, cloning strategy, and patch and upgrade planning.
  • Collaborate with architects and product owners to translate business strategy into platform roadmap items.
  • Mentor junior developers through code reviews, pair programming, and technical guidance.
  • Provide technical leadership within Agile delivery: contribute to sprint planning, drive backlog refinement from a platform perspective, and lead technical demos.
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex platform issues and coordinate resolution across delivery teams.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or other engineering or technical discipline. An additional 8 years of relevant experience may be substituted for the degree requirement for a total of 16+ years of experience.
  • 8+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development and platform experience.
  • Deep expertise in JavaScript, Glide APIs, REST/SOAP integrations, and ServiceNow scripting (server-side and client-side).
  • Proven delivery experience across ITSM, CSM, and ITOM modules.
  • Experience with ServiceNow platform administration and operations including upgrades, cloning, and instance strategy.
  • Proficiency with Integration Hub, MID Server architecture, and enterprise integration patterns.
  • Experience with scoped application development and cross-scope interactions.
  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA).
  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD). 

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) in ITSM, ITOM, or equivalent
  • Experience with ServiceNow DevOps, Automated Test Framework (ATF), and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with CMDB governance frameworks and the Common Service Data Model (CSDM).
  • Prior experience supporting federal or VA enterprise ServiceNow environments.
