This position will pay $75,000- $95,000 based on experience. The exact compensation will vary by experience and location.

Summary

Owens & Minor is seeking a detail-oriented HRIS Analyst with strong expertise in Workday Benefits to join our HR Technology team. The ideal candidate will have 3–4 years of hands-on Workday functional experience, with Benefits as their primary area of expertise and exposure to other Workday modules as secondary skills. This role will support system configuration, testing, business process improvements, and ongoing HRIS operations. 

A key requirement for this position is hands-on participation in at least two complete Workday Open Enrollment cycles.  
 
Key Responsibilities 

  • Serve as the primary functional SME for Workday Benefits, supporting configuration, maintenance, and optimization of benefit plans and related processes. 

  • Lead and support annual Open Enrollment activities, including requirements gathering, configuration, end-to-end testing, validation, production deployment, and post-go-live support. 

  • Configure and maintain benefit plans, eligibility rules, enrollment events, evidence of insurability (EOI), benefit business processes, and life event processing. 

  • Partner with HR, Payroll, and third-party benefit vendors to troubleshoot issues, validate integrations, and ensure accurate benefits administration. 

  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into scalable Workday functional solutions while following HRIS best practices. 

  • Configure, maintain, and optimize Workday Business Process Framework, including business process definitions, routing, approval workflows, notifications, condition rules, and security policies to support HR operations. 

  • Create and maintain Calculated Fields to support reporting, integrations, eligibility rules, condition logic, and business process configurations. 

  • Design, develop, and maintain Workday Reports using Report Writer, including advanced, matrix, and composite reports to support HR, Benefits, Payroll, Compliance, and business stakeholders. 

  • Develop custom reports and dashboards by leveraging calculated fields, prompts, filters, and data sources to meet business reporting needs. 

  • Support Workday releases by evaluating new features, performing impact assessments, regression testing, and recommending process improvements. 

  • Execute functional testing, regression testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for new configurations, enhancements, and Workday updates. 

  • Investigate and resolve production support issues, perform root cause analysis, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement sustainable solutions. 

  • Assist with security reviews and validate role-based access to ensure compliance with organizational policies. 

  • Document functional designs, configuration changes, testing results, and standard operating procedures to support knowledge management and audit readiness. 

  • Provide functional support across other Workday modules such as Core HCM, Absence, Compensation, Time Tracking, Payroll, and Recruiting, with the ability to troubleshoot cross-functional business processes and system impacts. 

  • Collaborate with HR, IT, Payroll, and business stakeholders to identify opportunities for process automation, system optimization, and continuous improvement. 

Stakeholder Collaboration 

  • Act as liaison between HR, IT, Finance, and external vendors. 

  • Translate business requirements into system solutions. 

  • Lead user training and provide tier 2/3 system support. 

Required Qualifications 

  • 3–4 years of hands-on experience working with Workday HCM. 

  • Strong functional expertise in Workday Benefits. 

  • Experience supporting at least two full Open Enrollment cycles in Workday. 

  • Working knowledge of one or more additional Workday modules (HCM, Absence, Compensation, Payroll, Time Tracking, or Recruiting). 

  • Experience with Workday business processes, security, testing, and configuration. 

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills. 

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. 

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional team 

  • Experience supporting Workday integrations (EIB/API). 

  • Strong understanding of HR data structures and compliance requirements. 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience supporting Workday implementations or optimization projects. 

  • Experience in global/multi-country environments. 

  • Prior experience leading a Workday implementation or optimization project. 

  • Experience working in Agile or structured project methodologies.
