Reimagine What’s Possible 



Due to an internal promotion, we are looking for an experienced Sales Account Manager to support our manufacturing facilities in Illinois and Wisconsin, with a focus on the Chicagoland area. This position is a residence-based role, with a preferred location in the suburbs of Chicago.

This Sales Account Manager position is responsible for selling our portfolio of liquid and bulk products into a variety of different markets including but not limited to Food/Beverage, Metals, Pharmaceuticals, and Chemicals.

Responsibilities include:

  • Existing Customer Account Management - Managing Customer Relationships, Customer Value Creation, Wallet Share Growth, Profit Management

  • New Business Development - Selling portfolio of Products, Equipment and Services to amenable Market, including New to Market and Competitively held Account Prospects. Strong emphasis on basic prospecting (high rate of daily call activity), and expeditious Direct Marketing follow up

  • Collaborate and interact with Product Manager and the broader customer facing organization

  • Success in this position requires a self-starter attitude with good time management and organization skills

  • Adapt at working in a matrixed organization and collaborating with other sales and marketing professionals within the North region and Air Products’ broader organization

  • Capability to lead all facets of the sales process to secure new business – including prospecting, preparing & presenting proposals, and contract & pricing negotiations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 3-4 years of successfully demonstrated sales experience (Industrial Gas experience a plus)

  • Robust analytical abilities and financial acumen

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Superior Presentation skills

  • Highly motivated with ability to work and prioritize independently

  • Work well in a collaborative dynamic team environment, with a high energy level while navigating through challenging conversations both internally and externally
