Job description

Be the one building AI-powered experiences where they matter most.

At Genesys, we help organizations create better customer experiences through AI-powered experience orchestration. Our platform connects people, systems, data and AI to help organizations deliver more personalized service, improve operational efficiency and build stronger customer relationships.

Help build, support and operate technology used by more than 8,000 organizations in over 100 countries – moving AI from possibility to production in real-world enterprise environments every day.

As Litigation and Compliance Counsel, you will play a key role in overseeing Genesys’ worldwide litigation docket and strengthening the company’s global compliance program. You will work closely with a broad range of business teams, including finance, human resources, IT, product, and operations, to help resolve legal and regulatory issues that enable the business to scale and grow.

This role requires a proactive and engaged approach, with the ability to work cross-functionally both internally and externally. You will provide strategic legal guidance across pre-litigation disputes and adversarial matters, while also supporting day-to-day legal risk assessment and compliance initiatives. You will operate in a fast-moving, technology-driven environment where practical, business-focused solutions are essential.

At Genesys, we build technology that enables organizations to deliver more empathetic and personalized customer experiences. In this role, you will help ensure that innovation is supported by strong legal and compliance foundations.

  • Own the end-to-end management of global litigation matters, driving strategy, execution, and resolution across jurisdictions

  • Lead outside counsel relationships, ensuring alignment on case strategy, performance, and cost efficiency

  • Drive internal investigations by gathering evidence, interviewing stakeholders, and shaping defensible legal positions

  • Influence pre-litigation strategy to reduce risk exposure and improve resolution outcomes

  • Partner cross-functionally with business leaders to provide actionable legal guidance on disputes and regulatory matters

  • Strengthen and scale compliance programs, including policies, procedures, and governance frameworks

  • Monitor global regulatory trends and translate insights into proactive risk mitigation strategies

  • Enable the business to scale by aligning legal risk management with operational and product innovation goals

Required Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing in a US state or territory

  • Minimum of 8 years of legal experience across a combination of private practice and in-house environments

  • Substantial litigation experience within a government agency, leading law firm, or major technology organization

  • Strong ability to collaborate across functions including finance, HR, privacy, IT, sales, and product teams

  • Demonstrated expertise in regulatory compliance, privacy, and technology-related legal matters

  • Proven ability to navigate complex legal and regulatory environments with sound judgment

  • Experience managing multiple high-priority matters in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision

  • Strong track record of building trusted relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting international business operations and cross-border legal matters

  • Deep understanding of legal and regulatory frameworks within the technology industry

  • Demonstrated ability to operationalize compliance programs at scale

  • Strong business acumen with the ability to translate legal complexity into practical guidance
