Accountant

The Incentives, Benefits & Reconciliation Accounting department at BCBST is seeking an entry-level Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated, with strong Excel skills and the ability to analyze large datasets to identify variances, trends, and opportunities for accuracy.  Accounting or financial experience is a plus, along with exposure to AI-enabled tools.  This role will support incentive calculations, account reconciliations, journal entries, and variance research.

Job Responsibilities

• Maintaining financial records in accordance with GAAP and organizational standards.
• Creating reports on financial performance for internal and external use.
• Performing balance sheet and P&L reconciliations.
• Creating and utilizing automated tools for the updating, analyzing and reporting of consolidated financial results.

Job Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent work experience is required. Equivalent work experience would be 4 years of experience in related field.

Skills\Certifications

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
• Proficient oral and written communication skills
• Proficient interpersonal and organizational skills
• Capacity to solve problems and manage multiple assignments with critical deadlines
• Strong analytical skills
• Thorough understanding and knowledge of financial and accounting theory
