Job description

As a Manager of Finance, you will work closely with R1 revenue cycle operations and finance teams to complete new customer End-to-End and R37 assessments. The rapid growth in R1 customer deployments will provide you with the opportunity to apply creative, analytical thinking to solve a wide range of business problems to drive value for health systems and R1. You will collaborate with both internal and customer finance and operational leadership in a highly dynamic and rapidly evolving environment on a daily basis.

To thrive in this role, a successful candidate will have very strong analytical and financial modeling skills, exhibit good business judgment, and be comfortable extracting key financial takeaways while analyzing large complex sets of data and communicating those summary findings to internal and external stakeholders.

Here’s what you will experience working as a Manager of Finance:

  • Support financial assessments of new customer operations to understand legacy operational cost structures and alignment with R1-contracted services
  • Interface directly with new and prospective R1 customer revenue cycle operations and finance teams to develop analytical models of customer’s operational performance
  • Opportunity to apply AI-based tools to aggregate and analyze large, complex datasets in order to extract meaningful operational and financial insights
  • Leverage a strong understanding of R1’s business model to identify commercial levers to implement value creation opportunities and win-win revenue outcomes for R1 and R1’s customers
  • Lead and/or support pricing workstream activities to complete all fee-related deliverables for new-customer engagements, including initial KPI scorecards and detailed cost models to support steady state R1 operations
  • Interface with Legal team to ensure contractual documentation
  • Engage with the R1 finance and operations team to support new customer budgeting and forecasting and lead the transition of commercial items from the baseline stage to "steady state” and financialization
  • Provide ad-hoc analytical information to operations and business teams in real time to support strategic decision making
  • Represent R1 with integrity and a positive, collaborative attitude with customers at all times

Required Skills:

  • BS/BA in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a similar discipline with minimum of 5+ years in corporate or operational finance, analytics, or a similar consulting role
  • Ability to work efficiently to support multiple operational leaders and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced and fluid environment
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel modeling and analytical skills required
  • Knowledge of healthcare finance or revenue cycle management required
  • Ability to convey and communicate effectively about the story the data is telling
  • Knowledge of SQL and Microsoft Access is a plus
  • Customer-facing experience a plus
  • Strong personal accountability and ability to find creative solutions to challenging problems
  • Strong understanding of accounting and finance principles and concepts
For this US-based position, the base pay range is $50,640.00 - $137,481.25 per year . Individual pay is determined by role, level, location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

This job is eligible to participate in our annual bonus plan at a target of 10.00%
