At Immense Group, we are guided by our core values of passionboldness, and integrity. We strive to create an environment where our people thrive, driven by a love for innovation and a commitment to delivering exceptional player experiences. A taste of what you’ll do
The Games Mathematician is a core member of the Immense Studio game development team, responsible for designing, validating, and documenting the mathematical frameworks that underpin our slot and casino game portfolio. This role works closely with game designers, engine developers, and third-party partners to ensure every game delivers mathematically sound, commercially viable, and regulatorily compliant outcomes.

Math design and documentation

  • Own the creation, maintenance, and governance of all game math documentation, including math models, metadata specifications, bet level structures, jackpot configurations, and RTP tables.
  • Ensure all math documentation is version-controlled, accurate, and aligned with live game behavior at all times.
  • Develop and maintain internal math design standards and templates to support consistent and efficient game production across the studio.

Verification and analysis

  • Design and build spreadsheet models and software simulations to independently verify math models — both internally developed and those supplied by third-party studios or mathematics consultants.
  • Provide formal proofs and analytical reviews of gaming math models prior to certification and release.
  • Monitor performance data from live games to validate real-world behavior against expected theoretical outcomes, flagging and investigating any deviations.

Tooling and automation

  • Build and maintain math tools and calculators to support the game design and production pipeline, including automation of repetitive calculation and verification tasks.
  • Write, test, and document code for math tooling used across the studio.

Collaboration and third-party integration

  • Partner with game designers and engine developers to ensure correct and precise implementation of math models within the game engine.
  • Support the integration and validation of third-party math models, assessing feasibility and conducting structured testing prior to adoption.
  • Act as the mathematical authority within cross-functional production teams, clearly communicating complex concepts to non-mathematical stakeholders.

Who and what we are after?

  • Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or a closely related quantitative discipline.
  • Hands-on experience designing or verifying mathematical models for casino or slot games.
  • Experience writing and testing code for mathematical tooling (Python, JavaScript, or similar).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; able to produce clear, precise technical documentation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a structured and evidence-based approach to decision-making.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to build complex models and automate tasks.
  • Solid grounding in applied mathematics, probability theory, and statistical analysis, with demonstrable experience applying these in a professional context.

Nice to have

  • Experience working within a regulated iGaming environment and familiarity with RTP certification requirements across major jurisdictions.
  • Knowledge of jackpot mechanics, volatility modelling, or feature math design for video slots.
  • Exposure to game engine integration workflows and the software development lifecycle in a games studio.
