Our media sales division helps local, regional, and national brands reach potential customers through multiscreen TV advertising. Our ad tech division FreeWheel provides comprehensive adtech that makes it easier to buy and sell premium video advertising across all screens, data types, and sales channels.

Job Summary

The Data Scientist 2 is an independent contributor who develops and applies statistical, machine learning, and optimization techniques to solve well-defined business problems. This role partners with cross-functional teams to deliver data-driven insights and scalable analytical solutions while continuing to build technical expertise.

Job Description

  • Build and validate machine learning, statistical, and optimization models for business use cases. 
  • Analyze large and complex datasets to identify actionable insights and recommend solutions. 
  • Develop automated analytical workflows, reports, dashboards, and reusable data pipelines. 
  • Assist Senior Data Scientists to evaluate model performance and document methodologies. 
  • Present technical findings and business impact to technical and non-technical stakeholders. 
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Analytics teams to translate business requirements into data science solutions. 
  • Contribute to code reviews and knowledge sharing. 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field. 

  • 1–3 years of relevant experience. 

  • Strong programming skills in Python and SQL; Spark/PySpark experience preferred. 

  • Working knowledge of machine learning techniques (regression, classification, clustering, forecasting, tree-based models, deep learning) and statistical analysis. 

  • Exposure to cloud platforms, MLOps, or Generative AI concepts is a plus. 

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. 

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define data analysis problems and design experiments
  • Engineering software solutions and algorithms for data cleansing, integration, and analysis
  • Utilizing advanced statistical methods and machine learning to derive actionable insights from big data
  • Implementing statistical and mathematical models to address complex business challenges
  • Constructing data mining frameworks and conducting trend analysis for strategic decision-making
  • Analyzing complex datasets to identify historical patterns in customer and product behaviors
  • Building predictive models to forecast customer actions and guide business planning
  • Synthesizing findings from data science research to inform and optimize business processes
  • Presenting data-driven insights and recommendations through clear, comprehensive deliverables
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Comcast intends to offer the selected candidate base pay within the posted range for this role at the time of posting dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience.
