Job description

About the role:

Do you want to help determine which civil projects Jan De Nul Group will effectively execute in the future? As a Tender Engineer, you are right at the starting line: together with your colleagues, you lay the foundation for a strong tender dossier that helps determine which sites will move forward. You contribute to one or more (complex) dossiers and are given the trust and space to organise your work efficiently. Thanks to the broad expertise under one roof, you can easily switch with colleagues from different disciplines to make well-founded choices. And the best part? Projects you work on together are later truly visible on site.

The Oosterweel Link, the Antwerp prison, the new VRT building, the ecoduct in Lommel or the new Defence headquarters; all projects by Jan De Nul Group. Civil works are the cradle of the group and still an important division today. Jan De Nul Group focuses on complex projects and offers clients, private or public, a total tailor-made package. This approach, together with the technical expertise and years of experience, ensures that we also belong to the absolute top in civil works.

What you’ll do:

As a Tender Engineer within our Construction Projects department, your main tasks and responsibilities are:

  • Developing one or more (complex) tender dossiers together with the tender team.
  • Coordinating with various stakeholders, internally (engineering department, drafting office, execution, procurement, …) and externally (suppliers, subcontractors, …), to gather input and substantiate decisions.
  • Analysing and weighing risks and opportunities to determine the most efficient execution methodology.
  • Requesting and analysing price quotations from suppliers and subcontractors and translating these into a substantiated calculation and price build-up, based on the selected production method and equipment.
  • Preparing the final tender dossier with the aim of submitting the offer.

No two days are the same: each tender has its own context, challenges and approach. This creates variety and keeps your work genuinely challenging!

What do you need?
You hold a degree in Civil Engineering (Engineering Sciences) or a Bachelor in Construction. Both graduates and candidates with experience are welcome. You have an excellent knowledge of Dutch.

In this role, you feel at home when working accurately and in a structured way, while also thinking proactively. You combine structure with creativity and drive to arrive at a strong approach and a well-founded price proposal.

You will work from our office in Aalst, with the possibility of site visits to see your work in practice. In addition, we provide a tailored, hands-on training programme so you can quickly find your way within our operations and projects.

Why working for us:
