Overview:
GitHub is looking for a Senior Manager, People Intelligence & Analytics to lead the evolution of our People Analytics function into an AI-powered People Intelligence capability. You will be responsible for transforming how the People Team and business leaders make workforce decisions by combining trusted people data, predictive analytics, workforce forecasting, AI-generated insights, and Leadership Self-Service AI tools. In this role, you'll define the future intelligence layer of GitHub's People organization; building the models, AI products, narratives, and analytics experiences that help leaders move from retrospective reporting to predictive, contextual, and actionable workforce intelligence. This role will report into the Sr. Director, People Consulting & Services.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & People Intelligence
- Lead the People Intelligence & Analytics function, establishing strategy, priorities, operating rhythm, delivery standards, and stakeholder engagement models across the People Team.
- Transform People Analytics from a traditional reporting function into an AI-powered People Intelligence capability focused on predictive insight, decision support, workforce intelligence, and executive advisory.
- Define and execute a multi-year vision for how AI, analytics, and workforce intelligence reshape decision making across GitHub.
AI-Powered Workforce Intelligence
- Build and scale AI-enabled products, including:
- Automated insight generation
- Executive workforce narratives
- Natural-language analytics experiences
- Analytics copilots and intelligent insight assistants
- Anomaly detection and workforce trend identification
- Design and implement predictive analytics capabilities including:
- Workforce forecasting
- Attrition and retention modeling
- Internal mobility intelligence
- Skills-gap analysis
- Organizational health indicators
- Talent movement forecasting
Decision Intelligence & Executive Advisory
- Partner directly with executives, HRBPs, People Consultants, Finance, and business leaders to identify critical workforce questions and translate them into actionable intelligence AI products and strategic recommendations.
- Develop executive-ready workforce intelligence products that combine data, AI-generated narratives, contextual insights, predictive indicators, and recommended actions.
- Own People Team metric standards, data definitions, analytical methodologies, and reporting frameworks.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to People Team leadership on workforce trends, organizational effectiveness, talent risks, and future workforce planning.
AI Transformation as the Data Engine
- Define the future operating model for analytics within an AI-enabled HR organization.
- Establish how analysts leverage AI, agents, automation, and decision-support technologies to increase insight quality, speed, and scale.
- Partner closely with the Senior AI Transformation Manager, HR to technically scope responsible AI practices, agentic solutions, and emerging AI capabilities into intelligence products and workforce experiences.
- Drive experimentation and adoption of innovative AI technologies that enhance forecasting/predictive effectiveness and strategic decision making.
- Build future capabilities in advanced assessment, AI-assisted analysis, predictive modeling, data storytelling, and workforce intelligence.

- Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 5+ years experience in data science (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques) or related field
- OR Master's Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 3+ years experience in data science (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques) or related field
- OR Doctorate in Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 1+ year(s) experience in data science (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques) or related field
- OR equivalent experience.
- 1+ years people management experience.
- Experience building executive-facing analytics products, strategic insights, and data-driven decision-support capabilities.
- Experience applying AI, machine learning, predictive analytics, or advanced statistical approaches to solve business challenges.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience leading People Analytics transformation initiatives within a large enterprise environment.
- Experience developing AI-powered analytics products, conversational analytics tools, analytics copilots, or agentic insight solutions.
- Experience with workforce forecasting, talent intelligence, organizational network analysis, or predictive talent modeling.
- Experience working across HR systems such as Workday, SuccessFactors, Viva Glint, or related people-data platforms.
- Knowledge of Responsible AI principles, model governance, privacy standards, and explainability considerations.
- Experience building modern data and analytics capabilities using cloud platforms, PowerBI, Fabric, Azure, or similar ecosystems.
Compensation Range:
The base salary range for this job is USD $124,000.00 - USD $329,200.00 /Yr.
These pay ranges are intended to cover roles based across the United States. An individual's base pay depends on various factors including geographical location and review of experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant. At GitHub certain roles are eligible for benefits and additional rewards, including annual bonus and stock. These rewards are allocated based on individual impact in role. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee's role.
This position will be open for a minimum of 3 days, with applications accepted on an ongoing basis until the position is filled.
