Job Description
Summary
We are seeking an experienced Sr. Manager, Applications Technology to lead the administration, support, governance, and strategic advancement of enterprise applications and related technologies. This role is responsible for managing a team that supports Oracle Fusion Cloud, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) PaaS services, SharePoint, Microsoft SQL Server databases, SplashBI, Ivanti, CData Sync, custom applications, reporting platforms, and other business-critical systems.
The Sr. Manager will oversee day-to-day application operations, user access management, production support, application lifecycle management, security and audit coordination, vendor engagement, and technology roadmap execution. This role will also support AI enablement and intelligent automation initiatives to improve operational efficiency, reduce manual work, and enhance business reporting and decision-making.
This position requires strong technical leadership, people management, and stakeholder partnership.
Position Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Operations
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Applications Technology team, including hiring, onboarding, coaching, performance management, and career development.
- Oversee daily application operations, production support, incident resolution, service request fulfillment, and Tier 3 technical support activities.
- Establish and track operational metrics related to system availability, support responsiveness, backlog management, audit readiness, and service quality.
- Promote a collaborative, accountable, and customer-focused team culture.
- Drive continuous improvement in documentation, knowledge management, support processes, and operational standards.
Application Management & Technology Governance
- Provide leadership and governance for enterprise applications and platforms, including Oracle Fusion Cloud, OCI PaaS services, SharePoint, SQL Server, SplashBI, Ivanti, CData Sync, and custom applications.
- Oversee application lifecycle activities, including enhancements, configuration changes, patching, upgrades, change management, release management, testing, and production deployments.
- Partner with business and IT leadership to define and execute a multi-year application roadmap aligned with organizational growth, application rationalization, cloud-first strategy, and business priorities.
- Manage application performance, availability, monitoring, backup/recovery planning, disaster recovery coordination, and operational resilience.
Database, Integration & Automation Oversight
- Manage support for SQL Server databases and application-related data platforms, including performance, security, backups, recovery, and optimization.
- Oversee integrations, data movement, and automation platforms supporting enterprise applications and reporting needs.
- Lead efforts to streamline manual processes through automation, scripting, workflow improvements, and intelligent tools.
- Support AI enablement initiatives, including intelligent assistants, API-based automation, workflow automation, LLM integration platforms, and emerging enterprise AI capabilities where appropriate.
- Ensure automation and AI solutions are implemented with proper governance, security, monitoring, and operational controls.
Security, Compliance & User Access Management
- Lead user access management governance, including provisioning, deprovisioning, role-based access controls, privileged access reviews, and audit support.
- Partner with cybersecurity, infrastructure, and compliance teams to support application security monitoring, vulnerability remediation, incident response, and audit readiness.
- Ensure systems and processes align with corporate policies and applicable standards, frameworks, and regulated cloud environment requirements such as NIST, CMMC, FedRAMP, GCC High, or equivalent controls.
- Support internal and external audits by coordinating evidence gathering, remediation tracking, access reviews, and control validation.
- Maintain focus on data protection, system integrity, segregation of duties, and secure application operations.
Vendor, Stakeholder & Business Partnership
- Manage vendor and service provider relationships, including support escalations, service delivery, contract alignment, and SLA performance.
- Collaborate with business leaders, project managers, PMO teams, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and cross-functional IT partners to deliver technology initiatives on time and within budget.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders by translating business needs, operational risks, and compliance requirements into practical technology solutions.
- Champion effective change management, user adoption, communication, and training for system enhancements and application changes.
- Prioritize demand based on business value, operational risk, compliance needs, security impact, and resource capacity.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)
- Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, with 12+ years of experience in enterprise application management, application support, systems administration, database operations, or related technology leadership roles.
- Leadership: 7+ years of experience managing and developing multidisciplinary technical teams, including developers, database administrators, application administrators, integration resources, or infrastructure partners.
- Cloud & Enterprise Platforms: Proven experience supporting Oracle Fusion Cloud, OCI PaaS services, or comparable enterprise cloud application platforms.
- Security & Access Governance: Strong background in user access management, role-based access controls, segregation of duties, privileged access reviews, security controls, and internal/external audit support.
- Service Management: Strong understanding of ITIL principles, including incident, problem, and change management, using enterprise service management tools such as Ivanti, ServiceNow, or similar platforms.
- Vendor & Stakeholder Management: Experience managing vendors, service providers, support agreements, SLAs, technical escalations, and collaborating effectively with business stakeholders, PMO, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and executive leadership.
- Process Improvement & Operational Maturity: Experience with application rationalization, system consolidation, support process improvement, operational documentation, knowledge management, and control evidence for audit and compliance activities.
Other Qualifications & Desired Competencies
- Regulated Environments: Experience supporting systems in government, defense, aerospace, or compliance-driven environments aligned with standards, frameworks, or cloud environments such as NIST, CMMC, FedRAMP, GCC High, or equivalent controls.
- Technical Breadth: Hands-on or leadership experience with enterprise platforms such as SharePoint, SQL Server, SplashBI, CData Sync, Ivanti, ServiceNow, Python-based applications, SIEM tools such as Microsoft Sentinel, or similar technologies.
- AI & Automation: Experience supporting AI enablement, intelligent automation, API integrations, LLM platforms, workflow automation, or enterprise productivity tools.
- Strategic Roadmapping: Proven ability to define multi-year technology roadmaps, modernize application portfolios, reduce technical debt, and align technology investments with business strategy.
- Resilience & Monitoring: Experience with application monitoring, observability, backup/recovery planning, disaster recovery, and operational resilience.
- Change Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead change, influence stakeholders, manage competing priorities, and drive adoption of new systems and processes.
- Leadership Judgment: Excellent judgment in balancing operational stability, compliance requirements, business urgency, team capacity, and long-term technology strategy.

The salary range for this role is:
$128,000 - $195,250
