Job description

About the role:

From conceptual design to execution model: as a BIM Modeler / Designer, you are partly responsible for the overall quality of our projects. You coordinate, model, and identify issues. The design and engineering department develops design calculations and engineering solutions for all JDN projects, from tender phase through to execution. For this role, you will be based on one of our construction sites in Mons.

What you’ll do:

As a BIM Modeler with a focus on structural design, you are responsible for modeling and adjusting 3D structural BIM models for national and international building and infrastructure projects.

  • You create new models in Autodesk Revit based on the designs of our in-house structural engineers or make execution-specific adjustments to models from external engineering firms.
  • Based on the BIM model, you prepare 2D execution drawings and quantity take-offs.
  • As a BIM Modeler, you take into account internal drafting standards, planning, and quality procedures, while also adhering to project-specific agreements with external parties and clients (such as the BIM Execution Plan).
  • You consider models from other disciplines such as architecture and MEP, and work together with the entire project team towards a clash-free model.
  • You think critically, propose improvements or solutions where needed, and regularly report on the overall status of ongoing projects.
  • You are responsible for checking your own models and their derived documents, and you regularly coordinate with the Team Lead, Design Engineers, Site Managers, and Estimators.

You will be based on one of our construction sites in Mons.
