We are looking for Performance Engineers to push the boundaries of big data query performance. You will benchmark, profile, and optimize Impala, Hive, and Spark to set industry-leading standards in analytic performance.

As a Staff Performance Engineer you will:

  • Build and run performance benchmarks at scale (1000+ nodes).

  • Profile query engines using flame graphs, perf, and low-level debugging tools.

  • Optimize execution engines, storage formats, and resource usage.

  • Collaborate with developers to deliver performance-critical improvements.

  • Publish performance best practices and competitive benchmarks.

We are excited if you have (Required Experience):

  • Strong background in systems engineering and distributed systems.

  • C++, Java, or Scala expertise.

  • Deep knowledge of CPU architecture, memory, networking, and I/O.

  • Hands-on experience with query engines (Impala, Hive, Spark).

You may also have (Preferred Experience):

  • Experience benchmarking on cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP).

  • Publications or contributions to performance engineering.
