Job Description:
Responsible for processing customs clearances (releases) and/or confirming customs declarations for repetitive and non-complex shipments, using the CCBS system and established customs procedures to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely service.
Supports internal and external stakeholders, including Import Operations, Support Services, Consulting, Inbound Services, Sales teams, customs clients, and business partners.
Job Type: Full-Time / Permanent
Workdays: Wednesday to Sunday (must be able to work ALL 5 days of the week)
Shift Hours: 5.00 PM to 1.30 AM EST (must be able to work a minimum of 40 hrs. per week)
Shift Duration: 8 hours a day (requires flexibility with Start and Finish time)
Work Location: Remote (based in Canada)
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Perform data entry activities, including opening customer files, validating information, processing credit requests, and supporting invoicing activities.
Collect and verify supporting information and documentation from customers, drivers, customs authorities, and internal offices as required.
Identify and escalate discrepancies in customer profiles and records to ensure data accuracy and compliance.
Respond to standard inquiries and requests from customers, drivers, customs authorities, and internal stakeholders in a timely and professional manner.
Collaborate effectively with customers, UPS Supply Chain Solutions employees, carriers, inbound agents, and other stakeholders to support daily operational activities.
Maintain accurate records and support operational processes while ensuring adherence to company policies and service standards.
Requirements
Plus 6 months of experience working as Customs Broker - Required
Customs Specialist ‘’CCS’’ certification - Preferred
Intermediate computer skills: Microsoft Office
Basic knowledge of customs operations, laws and regulations, and other government departments
Accurate data entry skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Bachelor's degree or International equivalent - Preferred
