The Director of AI Molecular Design is responsible for supporting identification and deployment of GenAI models to drive molecular design innovation across Danaher OpCos. This role will collaborate closely with subject matter experts at operating companies, developing proof of concepts and scaling up innovation ideas in novel molecular design.

This position reports to the VP/Enterprise Head of AI Molecular Design and is part of Danaher CDAIO office and will be fully remote.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

- Business Collaboration & AI Strategy: Partner with operating company SMEs and external stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into a prioritized pipeline of high-impact, cost-effective AI use cases.

- AI Solution Development & Deployment: Identify, evaluate, and implement GenAI tools and platforms to deliver scalable solutions across key domains (e.g., protein design, mRNA optimization, antibody development) at both OpCo and enterprise levels.

- Data Strategy & Governance: Ensure availability of high-quality, AI-ready data through effective acquisition, preprocessing, and management, while enabling insilico–wet lab feedback loops and maintaining strong security and compliance.

- Operationalization & Knowledge Sharing: Document models, workflows, and insights, and partner with product and engineering teams to ensure seamless integration and sustained value realization of AI solutions.

- Technical Leadership & Talent Development: Provide thought leadership on emerging AI/ML trends while mentoring and developing data science talent to build capabilities and foster a culture of continuous learning.

The essential requirements of the job include:

- PhD in Computational Biology, Computer Science, Machine Learning, Physics, Applied Math, or a similar quantitative discipline.

- 10+ years of industry experience in data science, AI, Bioinformatics, or a related technical field.

- Proven experience in prototyping, building, and deploying AI systems.

- Proficiency in Python programming and machine learning frameworks.

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a demonstrated ability to work effectively across diverse teams and stakeholders.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in: 

- Working within the life sciences, diagnostics, or biotechnology industries.

- Familiarity with Danaher operating companies and their focus areas.

- Strong publication record in top-tier AI conferences and journals.
