Job description

About Foundation Health

Foundation Health is transforming healthcare through an AI-powered digital pharmacy platform that seamlessly connects operational infrastructure with high quality patient experiences. Our mission is to transform patient centric care by connecting fragmented infrastructure, optimizing care coordination, and removing friction from the patient journey. We refuse to adhere to the status quo; instead, we actively pioneer solutions that will shape the healthcare practices of tomorrow.

This ambitious vision is only achievable with the dedication of the right team propelling us forward. We firmly believe that a supportive and inspiring work environment fuels creativity, transforming it into groundbreaking innovation. It is this very innovation that not only benefits our organization but also positively impacts our people, partners, and most importantly, our patients.

At Foundation Health, we foster a culture that encourages our team members to broaden their horizons, urging them to bring their passion and curiosity to the workplace each day. We understand that diverse perspectives fuel progress, and we actively seek individuals who share our commitment to excellence and forward-thinking.

The Role

In a high-growth environment, finance isn't just about accounting; it's about resource orchestration. As our Head of Finance, you will sit at the intersection of strategy and execution. Your journey begins by translating our capital and momentum into strategic growth, ensuring our resources are deployed with precision.

In the early days, you will be a builder. You’ll own and scale the entire finance function from the ground up, implementing the financial infrastructure and "cutting-edge" tools required for a high-growth US startup. You will shift us from foundational setups to high-fidelity reporting, giving our leadership team crystal-clear visibility into revenue, burn, and margins.

As we scale, your role shifts from builder to architect. You will become the primary strategic partner to our CEO, modeling our next big moves, evaluating new market opportunities, and leading the charge on future fundraises. You won’t just be reporting on the past; you’ll be the person architecting our financial future.

The Path Ahead

This role is designed for a high-trajectory leader who has played a key role in the scaling phase of a successful startup and is now ready to own the entire function.

What You’ll Own

While this is a strategic leadership role, the foundations must be rock solid. You will be responsible for:

  • Strategic Planning: Lead financial forecasting, budgeting, and long-term planning (runway, burn, and growth scenarios) while developing robust sales and revenue models.

  • Operational Excellence: Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including AP, AR, payroll, and cash flow management.

  • Financial Reporting: Own monthly board packs and financial reporting, translating data into actionable recommendations for the leadership team.

  • Partner with the CEO in board and investor interactions, providing clear financial narrative and insight

  • Infrastructure & Compliance: Evolve our finance tech stack by selecting and implementing modern, scalable systems. You will also manage US federal and state tax obligations in coordination with external vendors.

  • Performance Tracking: Build visibility into core financial metrics, including unit economics, margins, and department-level budgeting.

  • Team Growth: Build and scale the finance function over time, including hiring and developing a high-performing team.”

  • Risk Management and Controls: Establish financial controls, risk management frameworks, and audit readiness as the company scales.

  • Treasury & Capital Efficiency: Drive capital allocation decisions to balance growth, efficiency, and runway.

  • Strategic Finance: Support strategic initiatives such as partnerships, acquisitions, or new market entry through financial evaluation.

The Essentials

  • Location: Remote (US-based).

  • Experience: Proven experience in a high-growth startup or scale-up environment (ideally Series A to C) and experience with managing the finances in multinational organisations

  • Financial Rigor: A strong grasp of US GAAP, revenue recognition, and modern finance tools.

  • Strategic Partnership: Ability to act as a commercial partner to the CEO, owning financial inputs into pricing, deal structuring, and revenue strategy, expansion, and fundraising strategy.

  • Mindset: Strategic, proactive, and deeply analytical. You don't wait for instructions; you identify the levers that move the needle.

  • Tooling: Experience with Quickbooks online

  • Proven ability to act as a commercial and strategic partner to the CEO, shaping pricing, growth, and capital strategy

Nice to Haves

  • Background in SaaS, API, or healthcare-related business models.

  • Direct exposure to investor relations and the fundraising process.

  • Experience implementing enterprise-level scalable systems (e.g., NetSuite).
