The Director, Total Rewards contributes to shaping strategy and leading execution as the Total Rewards Leader for the Life Sciences (LS) Platform and Pall organization. This role is accountable for advancing the LS Platform Total Rewards strategy and for executing key enterprise programs (e.g., annual compensation planning) in partnership with Corporate and platform stakeholders.

The Director leads the design and delivery of competitive global programs across compensation, incentives, equity, benefits, and retirement, while driving core processes—including the annual compensation cycle, merit review, and equity planning—with a focus on continuous process improvement.

The role also oversees career frameworks and job architecture to ensure consistency and equity across the platform. In support of Pall, the Director partners with HRLs/HRBPs and business leaders to align Total Rewards strategies with talent and business priorities, leveraging data-driven insights to guide decision-making. The role further ensures effective communication, reporting, and consistent experience for multiple audiences across Total Rewards programs.

This position reports to the Sr. Director, Total Rewards and is part of the Danaher Life Sciences Platform on the Total Rewards team.  This is a fully remote role in the US with occasional travel requirements.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Provide strategic guidance across the LS Platform Total Rewards function for the Life Sciences business and the primary Total Rewards Leader for the Pall business, translating enterprise compensation and benefits strategies into execution in partnership with the Sr. Director, Total Rewards and in collaboration with the Total rewards team across the platform to ensure consistent application of the Global Career and Reward Framework (GCRF), including job architecture, leveling, and identifying and implementing measures to improve health and well-being programs on a global and local level, while advising on complex total rewards  matters and leading prioritized projects.

  • Lead and execute core total rewards lifecycle processes, including merit planning, variable pay, equity programs, and pay range reviews, benefit assessment & renewals while ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with business and talent priorities across both the LS Platform in collaboration with the Total Rewards Leaders, and as the primary point of contact for Pall HR leadership in support of the business strategy.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to HR and business leaders, delivering market insights, analytics, and data-driven recommendations on compensation, benefits, talent attraction and retention, and organizational effectiveness, while identifying risks and opportunities. 

  • Drive continuous improvement and operational efficiencies, to identify gaps, risks, and solutions through collaboration to establish standard work, contribute and implement scalable solutions, and performance metrics; Seek opportunities to leverage AI in collaboration with Corporate, Platforms, and LS OpCos to deliver innovative, repeatable competitive analysis packages resulting in operational efficiency gains.

  • Lead collaboration and change management across stakeholders, partnering with direct reports, LS OpCo Total Rewards leaders, Platform peers, Corporate, and enabling functions (e.g., Finance, HR COEs) to drive alignment, adoption, and sustained impact of Total Rewards programs and initiatives.

  • Ensure compliance and effective governance, advising on regulatory requirements, internal policies, support M&A due diligence and integration efforts, and employment-related matters (including FLSA and pay transparency), while supporting audits, driving best practices, and delivering communications and training to enhance stakeholder understanding and employee experience.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 14+ years of experience in compensation and benefits, or Master’s/Doctoral degree with 12+ years of experience

  • Previous experience driving the annual compensation process either as a compensation analyst or HR business partner or finance/analytics experience

  • High-level knowledge of Compensation practices and principles pay laws and regulations on a global scale

  • Ability to manage highly sensitive / confidential data in a professional manner and customer Service oriented – high sense of urgency and professionalism

  • Intermediate to advanced skills in project management, program sustainment, and DBS. Continuous improvement mindset

  • Strong knowledge of associate benefits programs, including health and retirement plans on a global scale

  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. Ability to communicate to different audiences at various levels of the organization, globally.

Travel:  

  • Ability to travel <5%

  • Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Demonstrated technical and analytical experience with tools including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Co-Pilot, and Workday.

  • Experience communicating complex information clearly and partnering across functions, with a background in HR, consulting, or related environments.

  • Experience supporting distributed teams and managing projects using data, metrics, and structured problem-solving approaches. ​

The annual salary range is $140,000 - $190,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting.

This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
