Job Title: Data Quality Product Owner (Remote)
Location: Remote (U.S. Eastern Time working hours required)
Employment Type: Contract (10 Months)


Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Data Quality Product Owner to lead the strategy, execution, and continuous improvement of enterprise data quality and governance initiatives. The ideal candidate will take full ownership of the product roadmap, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive the implementation of scalable data quality solutions that enable trusted, reliable, and business-ready data. This role requires a proactive professional who thrives in a fast-paced Agile environment and can work independently with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
  • Own and manage the Data Quality and Data Governance product roadmap, prioritizing initiatives and maintaining a well-defined product backlog aligned with business objectives.
  • Lead the implementation and continuous enhancement of enterprise data quality and governance frameworks, including data standards, business rules, monitoring, remediation workflows, and data stewardship practices.
  • Define and monitor data quality metrics, governance controls, and KPIs to improve data accuracy, consistency, completeness, and transparency across critical business domains.
  • Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, architects, analysts, and data stewards to gather requirements and translate them into clear user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Drive Agile product delivery by managing sprint planning, backlog refinement, and release planning using Jira, while maintaining comprehensive documentation in Confluence.
  • Oversee the adoption and optimization of enterprise data platforms and quality tools, ensuring scalable and efficient data quality processes.
  • Partner with technical teams to design, implement, and monitor automated data quality rules and validation processes.
  • Promote data governance best practices, including metadata management, data lineage, stewardship, and compliance with organizational standards.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and recommend solutions that enhance operational efficiency and reduce data-related risks.
  • Serve as the primary point of accountability for product success, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality solutions with minimal oversight.
Required Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience in Data Management, Data Governance, Data Quality, or Product Ownership roles.
  • Proven experience as a Product Owner leading enterprise data quality or data governance initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, data quality management, metadata management, and data stewardship principles.
  • Hands-on experience with one or more of the following technologies:
    • Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services (IICS)
    • Monte Carlo
    • Microsoft Azure
    • Databricks
    • SQL
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with expertise in Jira and Confluence.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence both technical and business audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, take ownership, and drive initiatives to successful completion.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting supply chain, operations, or enterprise data domains.
  • Familiarity with data lineage, master data management (MDM), and regulatory or compliance-driven data governance.
  • Experience implementing automated data quality monitoring and remediation processes.
  • Product Owner certifications such as CSPO or SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager are a plus.
