The role of the Process Technology Specialist II is to provide engineering solutions in support of business objectives, using both internal and external resources as required. The Specialist will perform early-stage engineering including feasibility studies and option evaluation, and work with the rest of the Process Design group to develop those efforts into capital projects. The successful candidate will work effectively in multidisciplinary teams at multiple sites, leading the process design effort to accomplish business, environmental, and safety goals with little to no direct oversight. The Specialist will also help mentor junior engineers, and provide input on developing standards and best practices.

Experience:

  • 15+ years Process Design Engineering or related field
  • Experience working in a production facility preferred
  • Knowledge of ANSI, OSHA, NFPA, ASME, API and other code and regulatory requirements.
  • Good analytical abilities and adept at problem solving.
  • Presentation of calculations and results in an organized manner and orderly record keeping are necessary skills.
  • Expansive knowledge of the chemical industry and process engineering work processes

Skills:

  • Demonstrate a continuing awareness and implementation of safety practices in the workplace.
  • Ability to incorporate safety standards/principles in process designs (“Safety in Design”)
  • Determination to understand root cause of problems, and tenacity to push through to a practical solution.
  • High level of technical and practical competence, and ability to use those skills to quickly identify opportunities for imroving chemical processing systems ·
  • Ability to communicate effectively with management and peers to coordinate activities with various departments and disciplines.
  • Adept using MS Suite, particualry MS Excel.

Education:

  • Bachelors degree in chemical engineering or a related field

The expected compensation range for this position is between $107,500.00 and $157,663.00 plus discretionary bonuses. The exact compensation may vary based on your skills, experience and other factors permitted by law.
