Job Title: Buyer II 
Location: Olathe, KS

Department: Manufacturing
Reports To: Director of Manufacturing


Vantage MedTech provides comprehensive design and manufacturing services, supporting the advancement of medical technologies from concept through to product realization. We are developing new products for the treatment of heart failure, cancer, stroke, Gene Therapy, COPD, TBI, Atrial Fibrillation, Blood Clots, Brain Surgery, and many more! The Buyer II will serve as the subject matter expert in areas related to sourcing, purchasing, and supplier relationship management across both the Manufacturing and Tech Services parts of the business. The Buyer will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to support Vantage MedTech’s initiatives and continuously improving purchasing and supplier management standards and processes. Through collaboration with New Product Introduction project teams, you will support the establishment of sustainable production while providing guidance in Supply Chain planning, production supplier selection, and prototype ordering.

**This is not a remote opportunity. This position is based Olathe, KS.  Local candidates only. We do not offer relocation assistance.  

Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and maintain purchasing parameters, supplier information, and supply-and-demand balances, and generate and manage purchase orders to ensure uninterrupted production using the company ERP system.
  • Research the market to identify and develop a robust supply base
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers with an emphasis on cost, quality, and on- time delivery
  • Coordinate order volumes and material deliveries to obtain optimal pricing
  • Develop strong business relationships with key suppliers by regularly sharing feedback on supply and quality performance and maintaining regular channels of communication
  • Ensure that appropriate action is taken in response to component shortages to prevent interruption of product supply
Education and Experience:
  • 5 years in purchasing with experience in a Manufacturing/Regulated Industry environment
  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to anticipate changing business needs related to purchases
  • Adaptable self-starter who will effectively develop strategies that drive the company vision, mission, and values
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills to effectively support our Internal Teams and key Suppliers
  • Experience with sourcing and new project launches is a plus
