Job description

Job Title: Healthcare Operations Assistant

Location: South Africa

Job Type: Full-Time, Remote

Working Hours: US Hours (9am-5pm EST)

Salary: South African Rand (ZAR)

Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Healthcare Operations Assistant to support the day-to-day administrative and operational functions of a healthcare organization. This role requires strong organizational skills, excellent communication, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the operations team.
  • Coordinate schedules, meetings, and operational tasks.
  • Assist with patient, provider, and referral coordination.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Monitor workflows and follow up on outstanding tasks.
  • Communicate professionally with patients, providers, and internal teams via phone and email.
  • Assist with reporting, data entry, and process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and healthcare regulations.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of administrative or operations experience, preferably in healthcare.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare terminology and workflows.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Google Workspace.
  • Experience with EMR/EHR systems is an advantage.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced remote environment.
