Job Description

The Capital Allocation & Investments team is a new function within Agilent that will play a critical role in shaping capital deployment strategy, driving financial analysis, and decision-making across M&A, organic growth (e.g. new product launches), and portfolio optimization initiatives. The team partners closely with Corporate Development and serves as a key advisor to senior leadership across business groups, finance, and other functional stakeholders.

Reporting to the Director, Capital Allocation & Investments, the Manager is responsible for leading financial analyses in support of high complexity projects, with a primary focus on M&A. Over time, this role will also play a key role in developing core frameworks and infrastructure to enhance capital allocation discipline.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate capital allocation opportunities across full spectrum of M&A, organic growth projects (e.g. new product launches), and portfolio optimization

  • Lead business case development, collaborating closely with business leadership / key stakeholders to drive alignment and executive support

  • Perform M&A due diligence, partnering closely with Corporate Development and external advisors (e.g. investment bankers, consultants)

  • Conduct portfolio analysis to inform prioritization, capital allocation trade-offs, and long-term strategic planning

  • Mentor and support development of junior staff

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree, MBA a plus

  • 8+ years of professional experience in either investment banking, private equity, corporate development, or valuation / transaction services

  • Strong understanding of advanced corporate finance concepts (valuation, investment returns, EPS accretion / dilution) with ability to lead workstreams independently

  • Experience working on M&A deal teams or in a similar capacity

  • Exceptional attention to detail with ability to communicate key business insights to leadership

  • Strategic mindset with ability to identify and evaluate growth opportunities

  • High level of self-drive, proactivity, and ownership mentality

  • Broad exposure to life science tools and/or software industries a plus

Additional Details

The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $127,680.00 - $239,400.00/yr plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
