Job description

Job Description

At Fugro, we are shaping the future of infrastructure and construction through advanced Geo-data, instrumentation, and monitoring solutions. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Business Development Manager to strengthen and expand our pile testing and monitoring pipeline. In this high-impact, client-facing role, you will engage early in project lifecycles, positioning Fugro as a trusted partner well before formal tenders are issued.

Working closely with commercial teams, technical experts, and senior stakeholders, you will identify opportunities, guide clients through complex technical challenges, and develop commercially sound, value-driven solutions. If you thrive in a dynamic environment where relationship-building, strategic thinking, and business growth are key, this role offers the autonomy, influence, and variety you are looking for—while contributing to a safer and more sustainable built environment.

Your role

  • You build and maintain long-standing, trusted client relationships, engaging early in the construction project lifecycle;

  • You identify, develop, and expand pile testing and monitoring opportunities across the UK and EUAF region;

  • You analyse market trends, competitor activity, and sector developments to guide commercial decisions;

  • You influence project scope, specifications, risk allocation, and commercial structures to position Fugro as a preferred partner;

  • You lead or support proposal development, including bid coordination, and decision making;

  • You collaborate with commercial, technical, and project teams to align client needs with Fugro’s capabilities;

  • You represent Fugro externally and drive performance through CRM usage, market insights, and HSSE best practices.

Your track record

  • You have strong communication and relationship-building skills, with a solid network in the UK construction sector;

  • You possess technical expertise in instrumentation, monitoring, and pile testing services;

  • You have proven experience in business development strategy execution within Geo-data, geospatial, or construction industries;

  • You have the ability to identify opportunities, analyse market trends, and assess competitor positioning;

  • You are experience with CRM systems and managing pipelines, combined with strong organisational and tender management skills;

  • You are proactive, collaborative, and solution-oriented mindset, supported by a relevant Bachelor’s degree and strong English communication skills.

What Fugro offers

  • A diverse and inclusive working environment;

  • A competitive salary;

  • 29 holidays per year based on a fulltime employment (of which 4 are appointed by Fugro management) and the possibility to purchase 12 additional days;

  • Extensive career & training opportunities both nationally and internationally;

  • Flexible working hours and the ability to work from home in accordance with your manager and corporate policies;

  • Commuting allowance;

  • Modern pension scheme;

  • Collective health insurance;

  • Possibility to register with our corporate fitness plan;

  • Coaching options through our EAP (Employee Assistance Program).
