Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior SAP BO Developer for a 6 to 12-month contract position. This is a fully remote role with an urgent start date within the next two weeks.

The ideal candidate will have 5 to 6 years of deep technical expertise in SAP BusinessObjects, specifically focusing on Universe configuration/schema design and hands-on experience driving platform migrations to newer versions or cloud environments.

Core Responsibilities

Platform Migration: Lead and execute the technical migration of SAP BO platforms, reports, and universes to newer versions or target cloud infrastructure.
Schema & Architecture: Design, modify, and optimize complex SAP BO schemas and data models. Create and maintain robust Information Design Tool (IDT) and Universe Design Tool (UDT) universes (.unx and .unv formats).
Report Development: Design and optimize high-performance Web Intelligence (WebI) reports and dashboards for enterprise business logic.
Performance Tuning: Diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks at both the universe (SQL generation) and report level.
Security & Administration: Assist with setting up access controls, folder structures, and user permissions post-migration.

Required Technical Skills & Qualifications

5–6 years of dedicated experience with SAP BusinessObjects (including versions 4.2 / 4.3).
Migration Expertise: Proven track record of successfully migrating SAP BO landscapes (e.g., standard upgrades, server migrations, or moving to SAP BI backend solutions).
Advanced Universe Design: Deep understanding of data warehousing concepts, schema design (Star/Snowflake), resolving loops, contexts, and fan/chasm traps in IDT and UDT.
Strong SQL Skills: Ability to write and tune complex SQL queries across standard relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, SAP HANA).
Immediate Availability: Must be able to clear background checks/onboarding and start within 2 weeks.

Preferred Skills

Experience with SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) or interfacing BO with modern cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, AWS, Azure).
Familiarity with SAP BO Upgrade Management Tool (UMT) and Promotion Management
