Job description

Who are we

MetaGravity is a deep-technology startup headquartered in London which is solving the concurrency problem in simulation for massive virtual worlds and games. Our development hubs are in Poland and Sri Lanka.

Current game engines and game servers can handle a peak of ~100 players in a single game instance. However, the next generation of online games and metaverse experiences demand much larger simulated realities beyond what is currently feasible think, tens of thousands to millions of players and AI beings!

MetaGravity is solving this problem. We've worked from first principles to build distributed computing infrastructure that is limitless in its ability to scale, thus empowering creators to craft truly living, breathing worlds.

Who you are

We are looking for an enthusiastic game tester (QA) who can help us ensure the development work that we do is of the highest standard. We are hoping to find someone who has already had experience testing multiplayer video games and who may be interested in a management role at a future date (although individual contributors are also welcome to apply)

  • Support one of our development teams with a proactive QA testing approach that ensures our deliveries are of high quality
  • You will test not just the gameplay but how that gameplay works in a multiplayer environment (eg emulating network lag)
  • Generate innovative test ideas and incorporate them into comprehensive test plans, utilizing both manual and automated testing methodologies.
  • Promote and facilitate the adoption of best practices across multiple teams within the organization.
  • Regularly communicate progress and status updates via email or face-to-face interactions with the appropriate managers and team members.
  • Embrace a "Player First" mindset at all times, advocating for players in every aspect of our work to ensure a high-quality gaming experience.
  • Collaborate closely with peers and stakeholders to enhance testing and operational processes, ultimately driving product efficiency.
  • Exhibit autonomy in your role, demonstrating strong time management skills, meticulous attention to detail, and adaptability to evolving requirements.

Requirements:

  • You are already a skilled tester (we believe this requires at least 2 years of experience)
  • You have previously tested the multiplayer aspects of a game
  • Your experience is predominantly in UNREAL
  • In-depth knowledge of software development practices such as Agile
  • Experience with Upstream Quality practices, such as: CI/CD, bug prevention and containment tools and strategies.
  • Experience with any of the following test automation environments: Games, Console, Mobile or Web UI.
  • Defect, Test Case and Task tracking tool experience (JIRA, DevTrack, Test Rail, or Hansoft).

The position can be based in any of our hubs which include Warsaw, Gdansk, Remote in Poland, Sri Lanka and the UK.
