Summary

Our client is an aviation company who is looking for a strong, highly experienced person to join their Cleaning Crew for their full-service FBO at Van Nuys airport and future FBO network (KVNY). They are looking for a goal-oriented, dedicated, proactive individual who enjoys a customer centric culture. The Cleaning Crew is responsible for performing custodial duties which include cleaning all of the facilities, removing debris, supplying all areas with necessary materials and other miscellaneous duties.

Compensation

• Salary Range: $18 to $20/hour

Responsibilities

• Sweep driveways and walkways.
• Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them.
• Spot check lobby, kitchen and restrooms
• Clean restrooms with chemicals, disinfectants, and mop floors.
• Sweep up debris.
  
• Clean toilets with toilet brush and chemicals and mop area.
• Dust tables, wood surfaces, shelves
• Wash soiled linens.
• Place fresh lines on pilot lounge.
  
• Scrub stains, mold, and mildew from surfaces.
  
• Empty wastebaskets and take out trash.
• Wash dishes and put dishes away in cupboards.
  
• Set up, arrange, and remove decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, and scaffolding to prepare facilities for events such as employee lunches and meetings
  
• Clean upholstered furniture and drapes.
• Dusting and cleaning office desks and furniture that are not cluttered
•  Keep lobby area for clients clean.
• Stock kitchen with condiments.
  
• Clean sinks, countertops, microwaves, and refrigerators in break rooms
•  Wipe down appliances.
• Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors
• Wash baseboards, walls, and ceilings
  
• Maintain janitor closets in a clean, organized and safe manner
• Maintain janitorial equipment in a clean, safe and operable condition
• Proper labeling, dilution and use of all chemicals
• Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners in order to prevent damage to the floors
• Move around heavy equipment and furniture for the purpose of storage or rearranging
• Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems
• Drives company-owned vehicle for miscellaneous supplies as needed.
• Other duties and tasks as assigned.
  

Position Requirements

• Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent
• Two years of working experience in facility maintenance
• Fluent in English both written and verbal
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to prioritize and organize workflow.
• Must be a team player and work well with others
• Must be able to take initiative and execute assigned tasks in a timely and flawless manner.
• Must be able to clean using fluids normally used in custodial duties.
  
• Ability to work under extreme pressure successfully

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work in extreme heat or cold.
• Good hearing.
• Work in an environment with a noise level which may, at times, require normal hearing protection in the form of ear plugs.
• Ability to Lift or push less than 50 pounds.
• Bending at the waist, sitting, kneeling, laying horizontally, climbing, walking, etc., as job requires.
