Job description

The Company

Founded in 1964, this XCTR client is an American Private Equity firm located in the San Francisco Bay Area. They are focused on venture capital investments in technology-based start-up companies. This role is with the finance group, which supports the venture capital firm. Including its CFO, directors, and managing directors, the group currently has twenty-two people. The client has approximately seventy-five employees overall.

The Role

The client is looking for a Senior Accountant to assist with tax services. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational, oral, and written communication skills and strong analytical and technical abilities. Must be detail-oriented, highly accurate, and a self-starter who can work with minimal supervision in a team-oriented environment.

Core Responsibilities

  • Preparing income tax returns for various individual, partnership, and fiduciary returns for the family office.
  • Planning for and preparing quarterly income tax estimates and annual extensions for individual, partnership, and fiduciary returns for the family office.

Education and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in accounting or a related field.
  • CPA certification is a plus.
  • Four years of experience preparing individual returns are required.
  • Preparation of partnership tax returns and fiduciary tax returns is a plus.

Essential Functions

  • Researching tax-related issues.
  • Responding to tax notices.
  • Assisting Tax managers with special projects on an as-needed basis.

Experience

  • Knowledge of the venture capital industry and investments is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proficiency using CCH Axcess, ProSystems fx Tax, Workpaper Manager, and BNA Income Tax Planner is a plus.
  • Competency with Adobe and MS Office products, especially Excel.
  • Excellent English oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and technical abilities.
  • Detail-oriented.
