Agilec is looking for self-directed team members to join our national project delivering Career Transition Services, funded by Veterans Affairs Canada.

Position:        Employment Coach (Career Counsellor) 
Status:           Full Time; Permanent
Language:   Bilingual (English/French) and Unilingual (English)
Location:      Remote

The purpose of this job posting is to build a candidate pool. We currently do not use AI in our hiring process. 

Role Summary: As an Employment Coach, you will be working with our Career Transition Services (CTS) team assisting Canadian Armed Forces Members, Veterans, and their families. Working in accordance with our values and set performance targets, the Employment Coach helps candidates with career counselling, job-finding, education planning and support to access the Education and Training Benefit. 

Responsibilities:

  • Providing coaching and support across Canada for the development of a career and/or education plan to both Veterans, eligible family members, as well as active Canadian Armed Forces Members 
  • Interacting with candidates in a virtual environment via webcam and/or phone
  • Providing labour market information services, online resources and instruction modules, one-on-one career counselling and/or education counselling
  • Making referrals to other organizations
  • Providing job finding assistance
  • Providing support once employment has started

Requirements:

  • Bilingual (French/English fluent) is preferred
  • Minimum 12 month’s experience in employment counselling
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent Military experience: Canadian Armed Forces military experience as a Base Personnel Selection Officer or working in a Canadian Armed Forces Recruiting Centre or related personnel selection based military work environment
  • Possesses or eligible to obtain one of the following designations: CVRP, CCC, or CCDP designation or Psychoeducator (Ps.Ed) registered with Ordre des psychoéducateurs et psychoéducatrices du Québec; or Career Counsellors registered with the Ordre des conseillers et conseillères d'orientation du Québec 
  • Able to obtain and maintain Canadian Industrial Security Directorate of Public Service and Procurement Canada Reliability Status
  • Military or veteran-centric experience is a strong asset

Hours: Variety of shifts Monday to Friday (6:30 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. EST). Flexibility required.

Travel:  May be required to travel within or outside of regular working hours to attend meetings and/or events

Sommaire du rôle: En tant que conseiller en emploi, vous travaillerez avec notre équipe des Services de réorientation professionnelle (SRP) qui aide les membres des Forces armées canadiennes, les anciens combattants et leurs familles. Travaillant conformément à nos valeurs, avec des objectifs de rendement établis, le conseiller en emploi aide les candidats en leur offrant des conseils sur leur carrière, une aide à la recherche d'emploi, planification de l’éducation ainsi qu'un soutien pour accéder l’allocation pour études et formation.

Responsabilités:

  • Offrir des services d’encadrement et de soutien partout au Canada pour l’élaboration d’un plan de carrière et/ou d’études aux anciens combattants, aux membres admissibles de leur famille, ainsi qu’aux membres actifs des Forces armées canadiennes
  • Interagir avec les candidats dans un environnement virtuel par webcam et/ou téléphone
  • Fournit des services d'information sur le marché du travail, des ressources et des modules d'instruction en ligne, des conseils personnalisés sur la carrière et/ou l'éducation
  • Fournir des conseils individualisés en orientation professionnelle et pour les programmes d’études
  • Faire des recommandations à d’autres organismes
  • Fournir une aide à la recherche d’emploi 
  • Fournir un soutien une fois que l’emploi a commencé

Exigences:

  • Bilingue (français/anglais courant) est préféré
  • Expérience d’au moins 12 mois dans le domaine du counselling en matière d’emploi
  • Baccalauréat dans un domaine connexe
  • Posséder ou être admissible à l'obtention de l'un des titres suivants : titre CVRP, RVP, CCC ou CCDP ou psychoéducateur (Ps.Ed) inscrit auprès de l'Ordre des psychoéducateurs et psychoéducatrices du Québec; ou Conseillers d'orientation inscrits à l'Ordre des conseillers et conseillères d'orientation du Québec
  • Une expérience dans le domaine militaire ou celui des vétérans est un atout important.
  • Obtenir et maintenir la cote de fiabilité de la Direction de la sécurité industrielle canadienne de Services publics et Approvisionnement Canada

Heures de travail :  Variété de quarts de travail du lundi au vendredi de 6 h 30 à 20 h HNE. Flexibilité requise.

Déplacements :  Peut être amené à se déplacer à l'intérieur ou à l'extérieur des heures de travail normales pour assister à des réunions et/ou des événements.
