Principal Engineer - SaaS ScaleUp - Remote Job Ireland - Greenfield New Projects

This exciting role will suit an experienced Principal Engineer or a really strong Senior Software Engineer who is ready to step up to Principal Engineer level.

A growing SaaS client in growth & scale up mode needs to hire a mission critical Principal Engineer. This client is experiencing massive demand for their SaaS solution globally. The operation is strongly funded, with expert leadership. To keep up with client demand, they need to urgently expand their engineering team. The first new hire will be the Principal Engineer.

If you are a highly skilled & experienced Lead Software Engineer or Senior Software Engineer who is ready to step to Principal Engineer level, then this will be the role for you!

The client running a JVM focused stack so strong experience with Java, Scala or Kotlin is required.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Principal Engineer who has additional Architect experience. You will be the technical anchor for a highly skilled software engineering team. You as Principal Engineer will develop ideas, drive innovation, lead new greenfield projects, take architectural decisions, make calls on the stack, and mentor engineers.


This is fast paced, and will suit someone who enjoys a scale up environment. You must be technically flexible and able to go with change. You’ll experience variety for sure, and will enjoy multiple projects.

You can work remotely from anywhere in Ireland.

You’ll be able to make a strong, visible impact and your work and contribution will stand out. Joining early before the team scales out will give you an excellent career advantage.

Requirements

  • Strong experience at Principal Engineer level.
  • Highly skilled as a Backend Engineer.
  • Architect ability.
  • You must have experience in JVM languages, Java, Kotlin or Scala.
  • AWS Cloud experience.
  • Strong Microservices.
  • Able to work & thrive in a fast paced scale up environment.
  • Open to strong Lead or Senior Software Engineers who are ready to step up to a Principal Engineer job.
  • Living in Ireland, this is a remote job from anywhere within Ireland.
