We are seeking an experienced Scrum Master to provide day-to-day leadership and direction for a Scrum team within the Frameworks & Services Organization. This shared services team develops and implements Java-based microservices that support consumers across the CVS Health and Healthcare enterprise. The Scrum Master will oversee multiple complex initiatives spanning various business programs and technologies, with project durations ranging from several months to multiple years.
The ideal candidate is a proactive, highly organized leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and excels at facilitating collaboration among technical teams, stakeholders, and leadership. This role requires a strong understanding of Agile methodologies, software delivery practices, and project execution to ensure successful outcomes that are delivered on time, within budget, and with high quality.
Lead and facilitate Agile ceremonies, including Daily Stand-Ups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews, Retrospectives, and Backlog Grooming sessions.
Coach teams on Agile principles, Scrum practices, and Agile-at-Scale frameworks such as SAFe.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, accountability, and high performance.
Remove impediments and proactively address team challenges that impact delivery.
Manage multiple complex projects and programs from ideation through implementation.
Coordinate project activities across multiple systems, applications, business functions, and technology teams.
Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
Ensure alignment between project objectives, business priorities, and technical execution.
Drive successful delivery of features and enhancements into production while maintaining quality standards.
Monitor sprint progress and team velocity to ensure commitments are achieved.
Facilitate intake and prioritization processes based on business value, strategic objectives, and team capacity.
Track dependencies, critical paths, and deliverable completion across teams.
Collaborate closely with business leaders, product owners, architects, developers, QA teams, and executive stakeholders.
Provide clear, consistent communication regarding project status, risks, dependencies, and milestones.
Facilitate Scrum of Scrums and cross-functional coordination meetings.
Manage stakeholder expectations through transparent reporting and proactive engagement.
Monitor team capacity, resource allocation, forecasting, and utilization.
Identify, assess, mitigate, and escalate project risks and issues as necessary.
Develop contingency plans and corrective actions to maintain project momentum.
Ensure all project scope, requirements, and acceptance criteria are clearly defined and approved before implementation.

Partner with technical teams to ensure high-quality software delivery and operational readiness.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (High School Diploma/GED plus 4 years of relevant experience).
4–7 years of experience in Project Management, Scrum Master, or related Agile delivery roles.
Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and Agile-at-Scale frameworks (SAFe preferred).
Experience leading software development teams delivering enterprise-grade applications.
Demonstrated success managing multiple concurrent projects and priorities.
Strong technical aptitude and ability to collaborate effectively with engineering teams.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive alignment without direct authority.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently while managing competing priorities and deadlines.
Experience with resource planning, team coordination, and project tracking.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 Suite and Rational Team Concert (RTC) or similar Agile management tools.
3+ years of dedicated Project Management experience.
Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, SAFe, Waterfall, Lean, and hybrid project delivery methodologies.
Experience with resource forecasting, budgeting, and capacity planning.
Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Strong organizational, multitasking, and follow-up skills.
Experience working with modern Java technologies, microservices architectures, and associated development tools.
Knowledge of Healthcare systems and end-to-end member experience across healthcare applications.
