Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced IBM Sterling B2B Integrator (EDI) Developer to design, develop, support, and enhance enterprise EDI integrations. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in IBM Sterling Integrator, EDI standards, business process development, and integration technologies. This role requires strong technical leadership, problem-solving abilities, and the capability to work effectively within globally distributed teams.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform solution-level technical analysis, design, development, and implementation of EDI integrations.
  • Develop, maintain, support, and monitor IBM Sterling B2B Integrator solutions.
  • Design and build EDI mappings, business processes, and integration workflows.
  • Participate in testing, troubleshooting, defect resolution, and production support activities.
  • Lead day-to-day technical execution of integration and EDI projects.
  • Translate solution designs and architectural requirements into scalable technical implementations.
  • Ensure code quality, consistency, and adherence to development standards and best practices.
  • Conduct code reviews and provide technical guidance to junior team members.
  • Serve as the primary technical escalation point for complex integration issues and production incidents.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable and secure integration solutions.
  • Evaluate and adopt new technologies, tools, and frameworks to improve delivery capabilities.
  • Support implementation planning, coordination, and deployment activities.
  • Ensure integration solutions meet security, scalability, availability, and performance requirements.
Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience with IBM Sterling B2B Integrator (Version 5.2.6 or higher).
  • Strong experience in developing, maintaining, supporting, and monitoring EDI solutions within IBM Sterling Integrator.
  • Extensive experience with Business Process (BP) development in Sterling.
  • Strong expertise in EDI mapping and transformation development for:
    • ANSI X12
    • EDIFACT
    • XML
    • cXML
    • CSV
    • Flat Files
    • JSON
  • Experience working with communication protocols including:
    • FTP
    • SFTP
    • AS2
    • VAN
  • Strong understanding of EDI transaction processing and integration workflows.
  • Proficiency in:
    • DB2 and SQL
    • XML
    • XSLT
    • Web Services
    • REST/SOAP APIs
    • FTP/SFTP Technologies
  • Experience designing and implementing technical solutions for complex business requirements.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Technical Knowledge
  • EDI architecture and integration best practices.
  • Encryption and security fundamentals.
  • Authentication and authorization mechanisms.
  • Logging, monitoring, and operational support.
  • Performance optimization and traffic management.
  • Scalability, clustering, and high-availability concepts.
  • Enterprise integration patterns and middleware solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Mainframe technologies, including:
    • COBOL
    • DB2
  • Exposure to supply chain, logistics, retail, or manufacturing integrations.
  • Experience working in Agile development environments.
