Base24 EPS Engineer / Consultant

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced  Base24 EPS Engineer to support the design, implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of electronic payment processing systems based on the  ACI Worldwide Base24 Enterprise Payment System (EPS) platform. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in payment transaction processing, ATM/POS switching, card management systems, ISO 8583 messaging, and payment network integrations.

 

This role will work closely with business stakeholders, application development teams, infrastructure teams, payment networks, and third-party vendors to ensure the stability, security, and performance of mission-critical payment processing environments.

 

  Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, configure, and support Base24 EPS payment processing solutions.
• Perform system analysis, troubleshooting, debugging, and performance tuning of Base24 EPS applications.
• Implement enhancements and modifications to payment transaction workflows and authorization processes.
• Support ATM, POS, debit, credit, prepaid, and digital payment transaction processing.
• Configure and maintain payment network interfaces and message routing.
• Analyze and troubleshoot ISO 8583 transaction messages and network communications.
• Participate in software releases, system upgrades, migrations, and production deployments.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and operations teams to ensure high availability and disaster recovery readiness.
• Monitor transaction processing performance and resolve production incidents within established SLAs.
• Develop technical documentation, operational procedures, and support guides.
• Participate in on-call support and incident management activities as required.
• Ensure compliance with PCI-DSS, security standards, and financial industry regulations.
• Work closely with business analysts and project managers to deliver payment-related initiatives.

 

  Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience supporting payment systems in financial services environments.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with ACI Base24 EPS.
• Strong knowledge of electronic payments and card transaction processing.
• Experience with:
• ATM and POS transaction processing
• Debit and credit card systems
• Payment switching platforms
• Transaction authorization and routing
• Settlement and reconciliation processes
• Strong understanding of ISO 8583 messaging standards.
• Experience working in Linux/Unix environments.
• Knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• Experience with production support and incident management.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities.

 

  Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ACI Base24 Classic, Base24-eps, or related ACI payment products.
• Knowledge of payment networks such as:
