Job Description

Work is performed under administrative supervision of the Assistant VP for Research and Innovation, with evaluation based on the effective operation of the administrative functions. The performance evaluation is conducted through the performance evaluation system and in accordance with University Policies & Procedures. This position could include some remote work time, but is not 100% remote. 

A Presidential Proclamation issued on September 19, 2025, imposes a $100,000 fee on all new H‑1B petitions filed after September 21, 2025, and Texas A&M University–Central Texas will not pay this fee. Additionally, a moratorium issued by Governor Abbott on January 27, 2026, restricts the filing of new H‑1B petitions unless approved by the Texas Workforce Commission. Accordingly, if you will now or in the future require sponsorship for employment visa status this moratorium may affect our ability to employ you should you be selected as the final candidate. Applicants must be authorized to work for any U.S. employer.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists in implementing compliance management processes operating practices, both for research compliance and for export control.

  • Assists with oversight of the IRB and IBC operations in the Cayuse system.

  • Monitors compliance with policies and procedures.

  • Performs special analyses and project summaries.

  • Researches, interprets, compiles, and responds to inquiries about rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.

  • Coordinates the maintenance of files, records, and equipment; as needed, attends

  • meetings or committees on behalf of supervisor

  • Hires, trains and supervises student workers and support staff.


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Two years of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One year of experience serving on an IRB, IBC, or IACUC.

  • Experience with research laboratory processes and purchasing procedures.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation, and online meeting applications.

  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Planning and organization skills.

Work Schedule (Part-Time):
This is a part-time position with a maximum of 19.5 hours per week. Work hours will be scheduled within the following availability window and may vary based on operational needs.

  • Monday–Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

 

Pay: $22.00/hr

Work Location:  This is a hybrid position and is not fully remote. While some remote work may be permitted, regular on-site presence is required.
