Job description

NVIDIA is the world leader in accelerated computing. Our innovations in GPU technology, AI, and data center solutions are transforming industries worldwide. Join our engineering group passionate about local product development in Israel to play a meaningful role in bringing powerful hardware products from building to mass production.

The Local Product Engineering (LPE) group bridges the gap between hardware build, NPI phase and high-volume manufacturing. We work closely with contract manufacturers (CMs) globally to ensure mechanical readiness, production quality, and manufacturing excellence across NVIDIA’s networking product portfolio. We are looking for a Mechanical Product Engineer to own the mechanical aspects of production test fixtures, jigs, and enclosures. This role leads upkeep and adjustment oversight across CM sites. It supports NPI mechanical readiness and brings a strong manufacturing perspective into hardware development reviews.

What you'll be doing:

  • Fixture & Jig Support — Maintenance, and continuous improvement of production testing setups, jigs, mechanical enclosures, and assembly tooling. Ensure compatibility, standardization, and seamless integration of jigs across multiple product lines and CM sites.

  • Maintenance & Calibration Governance — Own and enforce maintenance/calibration processes across all products and contract manufacturing locations. Author process documentation. Lead quarterly maintenance audits at CM facilities. Drive calibration frequency reduction initiatives.

  • Equipment Limit Management — Perform data-driven analysis of test equipment limits (mating cycles, cable wear). Recommend and approve limit extensions based on engineering data and risk assessment.

  • NPI Mechanical Support — Escort new products through mechanical readiness achievements — from prototype through V&V station approval to large-scale manufacturing. Support station duplication and mechanical training for CM technicians.

  • Cross-Site CM Coordination — Provide hands-on technical support to global CMs (Flex Israel, Jabil India, Foxconn Vietnam). Resolve mechanical gaps, fixture issues, and production blockers in real-time.

  • Quality Audits & Compliance — Conduct structured quality audits at manufacturing sites focused on mechanical processes, fixture condition, and maintenance compliance. Drive corrective actions.

  • Participate in KO, PDR, CDR sessions passionate about hardware build, contributing insights from production and manufacturing perspectives. Identify potential mechanical issues early in the design cycle.

  • ECO Management — Review and process Engineering Change Orders related to fixtures, mechanical assemblies, and production tooling. Ensure documentation and version control via Agile/PDP.

What we need to see:

  • B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

  • 3+ years of experience working as a mechanical engineer in a production/manufacturing environment

  • Hands-on experience with fixture and jig design for electronics manufacturing or test

  • Strong ability to read, interpret, and review mechanical drawings and assembly drawings.

  • Proficiency in 3D CAD tools (Creo Parametric / SolidWorks / similar)

  • Knowledge of maintenance and calibration processes in high-volume manufacturing

  • Experience working alongside contract manufacturers or EMS providers

  • Strong analytical skills — data-driven limit analysis and evaluation of potential hazards

  • Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal)

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • Experience in the semiconductor or data center hardware industry

  • Familiarity with Agile PLM / PDP systems for ECO and BOM management

  • Background in V&V (Validation & Verification) environments

  • Experience conducting supplier/manufacturing audits

  • Knowledge of thermal management and thermal pad/TIM applications
