Job description

Our client is a fast growing iGaming company with offices in Europe which is recruiting a Tech Lead.

The Technical Lead is a senior individual contributor responsible for technical direction, architecture, and engineering quality within their domain.

You will define scalable and reliable system design, solve complex technical challenges, and ensure engineering standards are consistently applied. Working closely with product and engineering stakeholders, you will align technical decisions with business priorities, drive architectural evolution, and improve platform performance, stability, and maintainability.

The role can be based in Tallinn or be 100% remote with a service agreement (B2B contract).

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the technical architecture of systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security across the domain.

  • Set and enforce high engineering standards, including code reviews, testing practices, and CI/CD processes.

  • Drive technical improvements by identifying and introducing relevant technologies, tools, and methodologies.

  • Act as the go-to expert for complex technical issues, ensuring fast and effective resolution.

  • Collaborate with other tech leads and engineering teams to ensure consistent system integration and architectural alignment.

  • Serve as the main technical point of contact for the domain, communicating progress, risks, and key decisions.

  • Partner with product teams to prioritise technical work based on business value and system impact.

  • Identify delivery risks early and define mitigation strategies to ensure predictable execution.

  • Define and maintain testing strategies to ensure production-ready quality standards.

  • Contribute to the long-term technical vision and roadmap in collaboration with leadership and product stakeholders.

  • Ensure all technical decisions align with broader architectural and business objectives.

  • Continuously improve engineering processes, workflows, and tooling to increase efficiency and reliability.

  • Mentor and support engineers, providing guidance and structured career development.

  • Drive performance management through clear expectations, regular 1:1s, and actionable feedback.

  • Participate in hiring and onboarding, helping build and shape a high-performing engineering team.

  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive culture where engineers take ownership and contribute ideas.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Strong background in software engineering with experience delivering scalable, reliable, and secure systems.

  • Proven experience leading engineering teams or acting as a technical lead across cross-functional environments.

  • Ability to adapt communication and leadership style across junior and senior engineers.

  • Experience in engineering capacity planning and workload management to ensure sustainable delivery.

  • Track record of leading architectural decisions and defining technical direction in product-driven environments.

  • Strong understanding of modern engineering practices, including clean code principles, testing, and CI/CD.

  • Experience working with distributed or high-traffic systems and resolving complex technical issues.

  • Solid knowledge of system design, performance optimisation, and reliability engineering.

  • Comfortable evaluating and introducing new technologies where they bring clear value.

  • Strong collaboration skills with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders.

  • Ability to communicate complex technical topics clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Experience contributing to technical roadmaps aligned with business goals.

  • Ownership mindset with a strong focus on delivery quality and continuous improvement.

  • Strong written and spoken English.

  • Experience in iGaming is a plus.

    Salary bracket 5000/7500 EUR gross per month plus a highly competitive benefits package
