Job Summary
The Cloud Advisory ERP Consultant plays a critical role within Syntax’s Cloud Advisory team, bridging deep SAP technical skills with multi-cloud expertise to help organizations plan, design, and optimize their ERP workloads in the cloud.
This position focuses on delivering expert guidance, assessments, and architectural recommendations for SAP landscapes, ensuring successful modernization, migrations, and business transformation initiatives across AWS, Azure, OCI, SAP RISE and Syntax Enterprise Cloud environments.
The ideal candidate brings strong SAP Basis experience—including migration, upgrade, or conversion projects—and a solid understanding of ERP-to-cloud strategies, complemented by collaborative communication skills and an advisory mindset.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver advisory services for cloud transformation of ERP systems, including assessment, roadmap definition, and modernization recommendations.

Support migration and technical transformation projects for SAP systems, participating in upgrades, conversions, and platform transitions (e.g. to S/4HANA).

Advise customers and internal stakeholders on best practices for SAP architecture and cloud adoption across multiple providers (AWS, Azure, GCP or SAP RISE)

Collaborate with Cloud Architects and FinOps teams to ensure optimized architecture, cost efficiency, and aligned governance.

Participate in the design and validation of cloud landing zones, network topologies, and platform templates relevant to ERP deployments.

Support the execution of projects as Cloud SAP Architect and being the customer facing for SAP Basis Effort

Promote Syntax best practices by contributing to internal documentation, methodology frameworks, and knowledge sharing initiatives.
Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
- 5+ years of professional experience in SAP Basis administration and operations.
- Proven experience participating in complex SAP migration, upgrade, or conversion projects.
- Understanding of public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, OCI) and their relevance for SAP workloads (certifications are a plus).
- Experience with cloud assessment and advisory engagements is desirable.
- Familiarity with SAP RISE with SAP programs, partner models, and managed services is a plus.
Technical Skills
- Expertise in SAP Basis required configuration, performance tuning, and system landscape management.
- Understanding of cloud infrastructure components — compute, storage, networking, identity management, and monitoring.
- Experience with automation, backup/DR, or monitoring tools related to SAP on cloud environments.
- Comfort in working across hybrid infrastructures (on-premise + cloud).
