Job description

Our client, Carrot, is growing again!

About Us

Carrot, formerly Virtual Field, is a next‑generation visual diagnostics platform that delivers clinically validated perimetry and functional vision testing without the limitations of legacy equipment. Carrot transforms eye care diagnostics with portable, automated exams that improve efficiency, accuracy, and patient comfort. From visual fields to color vision, ocular motility, and pupillometry, every test is clinically validated and tied to five billable CPT codes. The result: faster ROI, confident clinicians, and seamless care.

About the Role

Carrot is looking for an Associate Product Manager to support as the operational backbone of our product and engineering teams. This person will help keep feature development moving by owning scoping support, ticket documentation, backlog hygiene, QA coordination, bug triage, stakeholder updates, and required quality documentation.

This is a highly cross-functional role for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and excited to help build software in a healthcare environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Partner with product and engineering leadership to scope new features and translate requirements into clear stories, acceptance criteria, and deliverables
  • Maintain the backlog so issues are groomed, correctly labeled, prioritized, and ready for engineering pickup
  • Own quality and compliance documentation, including design reviews, traceability matrices, risk analyses, and QSR artifacts
  • Coordinate and execute QA and UAT, including testing features, logging bugs, verifying fixes, and confirming release readiness
  • Triage incoming bug reports and clinical feedback from sales, customer success, and end users
  • Keep project dashboards up to date and maintain visibility into feature status, blockers, timelines, and upcoming releases
  • Track progress across active engineering work from scoping through delivery, flagging blockers early and helping ensure work ships on schedule

    What You’ll Bring

    • 2–4 years of experience in product operations, product management, project management, QA, software delivery, clinical operations, or a related role
    • Ability to communicate in writing well and be comfortable documenting requirements, tickets, bugs, and acceptance criteria
    • Experience working with engineering teams and agile development workflows
    • Excellent organization, attention to detail, and follow-through
    • Comfort testing software, reproducing issues, and validating fixes
    • Ability to work across product, engineering, design, customer success, sales, and clinical teams

    Bonus is you have:

    • Experience in healthcare technology, digital health, or clinical software
    • Familiarity with QSR documentation, design controls, traceability matrices, or risk analysis
    • Experience with Jira, Figma, GitHub, Asana, Trello, or similar tools
    • Experience in a startup or fast-moving product environment

    Why Join Carrot?

      • Opportunity to be part of a fast-growing, innovative company transforming the eye care industry.
      • Competitive base salary of $90,000-100,000.
      • Comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance.
      • Equity consideration.
      • Professional growth and development opportunities.
      • A collaborative and supportive team environment that values innovation and results.

This is a great role for someone who enjoys turning ambiguity into clear requirements, keeping teams aligned, and making sure product work moves from idea to shipped feature with clarity and rigor. Apply today to join Carrot and help shape the future of eye care!
