Job Summary

Summary: Responsible for supporting the management of reusable medical device inventory and instrument tracking system records. Performs inventory maintenance activities, including instrument repairs, vendor tray management, tracking system updates, inventory audits, and instrument database maintenance, to ensure accurate inventory records, operational readiness, and compliance with departmental standards.

Essential Functions:
-Maintains inventory records for reusable medical devices, surgical instrumentation, and specialty equipment within the instrument tracking system.
-Coordinates instrument repair activities, including identification, documentation, vendor communication, shipment, and return processing.
-Manages vendor-owned instrumentation, including receipt, inventory verification, tracking system entry, and return coordination.
-Assists with the creation and maintenance of instrument records, tray configurations, count sheets, and associated documentation within the tracking system. Maintains instrument identification, labeling, and tracking processes in accordance with departmental procedures.
-Performs inventory audits and reconciliation activities to ensure inventory accuracy and completeness.
-Assists with purchasing, receiving, stocking, and inventory replenishment activities related to reusable medical devices and instrumentation.
-Maintains competency in sterile processing operations and may support department operations as needed.


 

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent required

Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No

Licenses and Credentials: Certified Central Processing Tech [CSP] - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) preferred

Experience: Sterile Processing Experience 1-2 years required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of aseptic technique principles.
- Extensive knowledge of methods of cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization.
- Extensive knowledge of the operation and troubleshooting of all equipment used in reprocessing.
- Understanding of the principles and commitment to all standards of the OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens standard.
- Knowledge of and ability to use Windows-based applications such as database, spreadsheet, word processing, and materials management software.
