Our global infrastructure underpins every facet of Cloudera’s business—from data-center operations to IaaS-delivered analytics. As an IC2 Network Engineer based in Canada, you’ll be part of the small, high-impact team that keeps that foundation secure, performant, and ready for tomorrow’s growth.

As a Network Engineer you will:

  • Build & improve – Design, deploy, and tune Layer 2/3 networks (Cisco/Meraki, Dell, Palo Alto) across data-center, lab, and office environments.

  • Operate at scale – Maintain high-capacity links (10 GbE – 100 GbE), routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), and firewall policies to meet strict latency and uptime targets.

  • Automate first – Use Ansible, Python, or Terraform to turn repetitive tasks into reproducible playbooks and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Incident first-responder – Tri-level troubleshooting (physical, logical, cloud edge) for P1/P2 events; rotate in a 24×7 on-call schedule.

  • Document & share – Keep diagrams, runbooks, and change records current so the wider Ops and SRE teams can move quickly.

  • Security mindset – Partner with InfoSec to harden configs, manage certs/keys, and remediate vulnerabilities with switch upgrades.

  • Difference between cables/ fibers and different connector types.

  • 5-8 yrs enterprise/DC networking; Cisco/Meraki, Dell, Palo Alto firewalls & Cisco WLCs

  • Deep L2/L3 (Ethernet, VLAN, STP, BGP/OSPF), VPN & firewall expertise

  • Automation: Python, Ansible/Terraform (or similar)

  • Cloud: AWS/Azure/GCP (VPC, Direct Connect/ExpressRoute, TGW)

  • Self-starter, clear communicator, docs/runbooks pro; mentors juniors engineers

  • Bonus certs: CCNA/CCNP/PCNSE
